    I'd buy it!

But then again, you can get your own logo's engraved anyway, so expect a lot of knock-off appearing on ebay soon! (hopefully)

    Assuming it's official, I'd assume Gainax's J site.

Why would Bandai have anything to do with this? Were they Eva's distributor in Japan?

Also if I remember correctly Gainax is one of the few anime companies that will ship overseas so you might want to check their site out like Kyuusaku said. I read that on different anime boards a while ago though so things may be different now.

I believe they own rights to the crap merchandise. I remember Bandai Eva trading cards.

  13. Yeah, if there were any reason to buy an iPod, I'd get one now, but with the popularity of Eva among fanboy circles over there, I wouldn't expect them to last long at all.

You can get a logo engraved in the back? It wouldn't be too hard to make your own reproduction Nerv iPod then - logo on back, some sort of cellophane underlay for the screen, and there you go. Although personally, I think it would look better on the black U2 model with the red thumbwheel.

And that Gainax store is just creepy... of course, it's creepy when the merchandise of a character (Rei) has more varied facial expressions than the character themself in the show.

90% of Eva's merch isn't by Project Eva so thats why everything is wacked out.

My Favorite Eva figure is the Winged Evangelion featured in "the end of Evangelion". I have the DVD box set, and two directors cuts, and one of the movies. I also have two unit-1s, one unit-2, and two unit-005 to 13 mass production. My fave so far is the Winged white Evangelion.
Now after saying all that you guys probably think im a EVA fanboy, but im not. Quite far from it, actually. Im tired of how Gainax ALWAYS rereleases their stuff with just 10 or 5 minutes of new shit in it.

If they made a new ANIME movie (that brought GOOD closure or continue with the series, entirely) and not a crappy live action movie, it would be better.

Is the live action movie based off the episode when Ramiel attacks???

  16. I dunno, I heard the live-action might be a totally different story, with different characters, but that could have just been fanboys frothing at the mouth.

I have yet to get any of the nifty figures (though I'd like one) but I'm currently in the middle of collecting the new Platinum collection on DVD. My girlfriend has never seen Eva before, so we're watching it as we go - it's amazing how much more sense things make when you see the series a second time. I just hope they re-release EoE in the Platinum series as well, it would suck to have all the episodes in shiny silver cases, and then the dull black art of EoE. :smt043

One of my friends is (was in 1998) one of the biggest North American fans, (he somehow managed to get Evangelion@aol...) and bought the limited collectors edition End of Evangelion set (laserdisc, very very few made) :smt033 I got to see EoE before even the HK pirates :D
