I've watched the Evangelion series twice. However, I have only seen one of the movies. All I have to say is it's a weird show. Best line ever, "Here's your change" SLAP! :smt043

 

It won't happen anytime soon in the US at least. ADV has the rights to the Eva tv series and Manga has the rights to the movies. Maybe ADV will pick it up when Manga's rights expire but I doubt it will happen in the next few years. I never understood why they didn't just stick with ADV and have them release all of it.

 

Nah I'm talking about the $250 (in 1998) LE End of Evangelion box set. It was limited to 1000 copies or something. I see now it's lost it's value...

Whats the renewal boxset? Thats new crap made up by Gainax right? He'd never go for that. At his age I wouldn't be surprised if he were completely out of Eva and anime in general.

Oh really? I thought it was ADV all the way - the cover designs of the original DVD releases look similar enough. Oh well, here's hoping a deal was struck?

And yes, there were some great lines in the series - while the viewing fee/change one was great, the exchange that really got me laughing was:

I also have a friend who likes Eva too much. He got the entire series on PAL VHS - you'd think that would be easy, but there's only one shop in the country that sold it at the time (this was before buying off the internet was cool) and it's 200km away from here! He also got the entire 7-disc soundtrack (S² Works - it has EVERYTHING, even stuff that ended up not being used in the series), which cost him about £150!

I don't know who did the PAL VHS, but a while back the only way to see the real TV aired series through VHS. The ADV eps are slightly different and the animation is touched up. I had really shitty copies of the original J VHS, copied them from a duplicate rented out in a J video rental store.

 

Why would you want a laptop just because it says "NERV"?????
