Here are a few places you can go, the one I found while walking around London with Mrs... You can try CEX in Rathbone Place though not much retro left they used to loads 9 months ago but replaced most of it with crappy DVD:drool: , the Tube Station is Tottenham Court Road, there's another store about 500 meters from CEX called GameFocus they are ok they still have decent amount of retro, lots of Saturn, PSX Jap, Dreamcast Jap, they have some nice items in a display like Castlevania stuff and strangely a lot of promo stuff on PS2 and PSP worth to check, CD are always scratch free and they also had X360 promo last time I checked. You've got Raven games as well who's got loads of retro according to the webiste but I never went there and their website seems to be down at the moment but check before coming to London, I'm also meant to try CEX in Hounslow but didn't get a chance yet it's in Twickenham few train station from London. Raven games is miles out as in i dont think u can get there by tube far. For CEX i would take a run to a petrol station buy some run back and add to the fire if they were burning down.... Game Focus has some cool stuff. Some! Some imports too. I got someone here one of those keyboard controllers for the gamecube from them cheap.
Yeah CEX sucks nowadays, 9 months they even had a boxed Supergrafx and NeoGeo AES... but still worth a visit IMO. Paulo do you see any other shop in London? Gamefocus had more retro 6 months ago but I agree they have some cool stuff but not tons of them. Sabre
Stop in some pubs Make sure you get some proper fish and chips (not in a restaurant) Try to find a pie and mash shop (meat pies). The rest is just window dressing (but important to visit).
Raven is pretty good...but no tubes that far out......it is a train and then a bus...........if I had time I could take u there as not that far from where I live,...but would have to be a w-end as well CEX has really gone down hill over the past few years.....I got my Jaguar CD unit from them donkeys years ago....all minty and complete for about £70 At the time when they had shed loads of NEO GEO AES machines for about £100..............I passed these over for the JAG-CD as the games were so expensive. Then they started to really hike up their prices and stuff was just ridiculous....and now.....just crap
No i cant think of any other stores apart from GAME and gamesstation. I dont tend to buy anything in shops anymore unless its a bargain and even then i think twice about it.
Very true The only reason I buy anything from Gamestation is my M8 is the manager and I get staff discount  30% off anything used where they have two of the same So my 360 core was about £140....bought a full price HD as only 1 in store at the time and had £160 in credits from uber deals I had traded in.....so almost worked out free Nice post for that other London store I hadn`t heard of before...may give it a viewing soon
Ah yeah, Gamestation is not bad for a large scale corporate. You might be able to pick up Shenmue 2 second hand there, the 2 I usually go to always have a couple available.
well.. now I'm back. sad I didn't have time to catch up with you guys =/ I had counted the days wrong so it was more like 3.5 days instead of 5. And thanks for all the tips visted some of the places like the Game On thingy. Pretty nice, played some berzerk and donkey kong. Also visited the British Museum and some other tourist places like the wax museum. Also shopped at Forbidden Planet and in some Virgin store. Unfortantly I couldn't find any shops with nes/snes games =/ And last week it was my birthday so ate some cake and opened presents too
Glad you had a good time - still haven't made it to game on myself despite living about 100 metres from it (did you see anything mentioning imperial college around the area of the Science museum - if so thats where I go - mighty close!)
hm.. might have seen something about it. I thought it was intressting and made me want to buy a lot of new games
