;-) I guess that title is a bit misleading...It's not about source code. A guy in my class pointed out to me last week that there is a HL2 mod in progress dedicated to Goldeneye 007 on the N64. If you're a GE007 fan like me, this is big news. It's not really new since it's been in progress for quite a while but if I didn't know about it, I'm sure others didn't as well. They are creating a complete multiplayer mod for HL2 using the source engine. They are re-creating every map as well as weapons and caracters from the original N64 game but with more detail and higher resolution textures. I was just blown away when I saw these. I just put up a few to not crowd it up too much but you can visit their website to see all of them: http://www.goldeneyesource.com/. They also have rendered models of weapons ans samples of level music recreations. Very nice stuff.
That is freaking AWESOME! Every time I see prjects like these, it just blows me away. It's amazing what some people will do just for the pure "love of the game." You know, this got me thinking. The other day I was talking with someone, and I mentioned that it would be cool if Free Radical would do a remake of GoldenEye 007 for either a current gen machine or next gen machine. Think about it. EA published TS:FP right, and EA currently has the rights to the 007 name right? Not to mention, GE007 was one of the best selling videogames ever. It'll probably never happen, but wouldn't it be cool.
I hope someday for a Duke Nukem Atomic Edition mod. I know it sounds crazy, its just that I love that game for the N64 version! There's already source code out for the PC Atomic Edition.
sweet, i got a new reason to play cs source again, now if they would only release that rally game that uses the hl2 engine.
