Japanese Virtua Stick that the_steadster posted the pic of is held in high regard.

However, the PROPER saturn pad was, too, by beat-em-up fans. Proper as in the "second" saturn one as you guys call it. Yeah, it was the only design in Japan. God knows what posessed them to release that great spoon of a pad first in the West. It was truly awful. And the buttons were made up a bit like an airfix kit, so the joints would snap after so much flexing.

Theres this ebay auction from the UK, so shipping will be pricy
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...;item=8158736204&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Otherwise it'll just be a case of holding out until one comes up for sale, or trying to find someone who can get you one. But believe me, it definately is worth the money/wait, its a nice stick

if its the original pad that came bundled with the console (or exactly the same type) , then yes.

US and PAL controller model 1 aka fatty controller. Cool Design but not the best thing for button-smashing games. :smt009

sadly enough, i don't have incredible titles... :-(

Umm guys, can we remember to delete pics from replies please?

I don't really want to have 5 copies of the same large picture of a damned pad, thanks! And I'm sure 56kers won't, either!

Not sure what it does for the site/image host's bandwidth, either!

The most comfortable looking Saturn Pad is the gray-purple one.

Do fighting games support the "nights" pad, though?

I dunno, but I really prefer cross-pad style controllers for fighting games. Never been much of an arcade gamer, though.

I'd like a good stick to play Gradius V and R-Type Final on the PS2, and maybe try if any game becomes more fun to play with an arcade-style controller.

    Any recommendations?

haha. funny you say that, when i arrived at the shop 4 months ago to take the only copy they had, i sadly reallised that someone passed before me :-(

what's the funny thing in this? well, at the same shop, 4 months later, today, i saw another copy of it for 19.99$ can. ! that's ten bucks less than the last time. :smt045 i jumped on it and paid with a rebate of 10 $ i won for being a good customer at the shop. Total of the transaction: less than 15$ (can.) (with taxes). hehe! :-D

now i'm waiting for the tv though, my brother buyed burnout 3 and arrived before me. :ayashi guess i'm alway too late for one thing or the other. :-(

Returning to the topic, at the same shop i saw a dreamcast arcade controller.

sadly enough, i didn't have enough money to buy it. i'm a bit new to dreamcast collecting, and i never saw any of those before. It looks like a quality arcade stick, built to last. Anyone recommand it? What is his value ?
the item is marked 29.99$ (can. , again) and comes without the boxe or anything (i took this img from google).

(returning to the off-topic-ness) there was Street Fighter III double impact for 10.00$ (can) too. the case have been opened, but the game have never been played (Silly kids!).

i had no money left for this too, so i hid it in the hope it won't be found. hehe. :-D

i'll return there quickly and will certainly take those two items :smt045 :smt045

    cahaz.

PS: and for the trade, i'll test the game before saying yes or no. You never know, maybe i won't like it (i never played it). Hope. ;-)

PPS: fixed the broken image showing the fighting fans aproved ss controllers. i took the white jap SS specially for you, palese. ;-) hope it will help.

yeah, anyone tried it? what you think about it? i ask the question because i just took a copy of KOF 2000/2001 for the PS2
(and because the ps2 controller is shit for fighting games ) (i buyed it at the same shop i wrote about in the last reply for a low low price too :-D (damn i love that shop!) )

since i'll probally never get a neo geo ( :-( ) and never played one before, i thought that controller could make me feel like if i had one
    ( :-D)

DC stick was never super rare. It was released everywhere AFAIK. It should be available fairly cheaply still.

/me strokes his spare copies of Guardian Heroes

I personally don't liike the DC Arcade Stick, it's frustrating with stuff like MvC. Super clunky.

  19. We didn't get the DC stick over here, sadly, and with its weight it gets to be one of the pricier peripheral imports for shipping. I think though that I'd rather just get a PSX adaptor and use my existing modded arcade stick or Street Fighter Anniversary controller - I've got enough joysticks cluttering up my floor.

Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those Japanese Saturn Virtua Sticks though, those are quality, unlike the ones we got here... :smt009

the holy grail has to be that a meter long two user arcade stick - called astro or something?

I'd love to bring one to my place but unless some of my relatives decide to migrate to Australia don't think that'll be happening... :p

    cheers
