Thanks for the memories. :gravedigging: Post your fondest Halo 2 moment. Here's mine. Picking the game up at midnight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1V5CMJtkyk :crying:
I'm guessing this is over xbox live support being pulled? With the popularity that is Halo 2, I don't get why they haven't just simply release a 360 port, or even if not a retail game, just a quick XBLA port of the exe that fetches the data from the halo 2 disc.
if it's the same XBE like with their other Xbox classics - it won't work. The Xbox 1 service is pulled. They'd have to redo the whole thing as a 360 file.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbN0g8-zbdY Not a bad game, and I don't like the original xbox that much.
Well it's too bad for those who still like to play it online. I stopped about 4/5 years ago due to, too many people abusing bugs, glitches and modded xboxes(and in general how stupid the community was). It's too bad though it was a good game.
well it should be still possible to play online with XLink Kai http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XLink_Kai Haven't tested it though.
Just thought about this, and it should be possible since the game does indeed support a system link multiplayer mode. Then again, it's been over a year since I've played Halo...
Anyone who's not grabbed the DLC maps and wanna use 'em later for some retro system link (or xlink kai) fun might wanna connect to live within the next few hours and download them (as I suppose those are going down with the original LIVE support tonight) Most of the maps you can get via the map pack disc, though. Only one map pack aint available on that disc. Unless, I guess, there are working ways of injecting these on an original Xbox now... Did a couple of Halo 2 matches earlier tonight myself (my first ever Halo 2 LIVE matches, actually. All previous action has been on LAN... when the game was still new.). Anyway, there was so-so-ish crowd online tonight. Nice to see so many biddin' it farewell.
I like Xbox Connect more than XLK, more people tend to be on it. Honestly I don't feel like it'll be missed much, and on XBC I can use play it off my xbox1's hard drive for better loads...all that's really lost imo is matchmaking. the last two maps, tombstone and whatever are pretty weak and the mappack disc has all the others. they added today a bunch of really humerous matchmaking waiting signs referencing halo 3. "SMG START! Okay we admit. it was a bad idea." and "BXR, yeah it's cheating" and stuff
I hated the BXR, with a passion. I never liked using it on anyone, but lots of people used it on others and well fighting fire with fire never puts out the flame but sure helped me from getting so pissed off at the turds for ruining the fun for all the people who can't do it.
it's not hard, complaining about BXR is like complaining about someone doing a combo in Street fighter. just takes time and practice and is actually really easy. can pull you out of some clutch situations and because the dexterity required, well i applaud it. but to each their own.
explain please? Because it's no more a fair advantage that you can push a button sequence to get a kill faster than it is having better aim or timing a melee than someone IMO
I'm still playing in Big Team Battle. I made the top 100. I'm on the west coast and I've had my Xbox 360 on since 9pm on Wednesday.
