So I bought GTAV on Steam a couple hours ago. After an hour of installation errors, it finally started installing about an hour ago. It will take about 10 hours and 59.1GB. This is the largest PC game I have ever installed to date. I can't play it until the morning so I won't know how good it is until then.

Have you played it yet? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Does it run good? Have you played GTA Online on PC yet?

I would also like to know what are your thoughts on the video making/editing tools bundled with the game if you have used them yet. Is it any good or is it worse than Movie Maker for organizing and PowerPoint for editing?

I will be importing my online character from the 360 version to the PC version so this will be a big step-up for me. I haven't played the eighth gen versions so I don't know how big of a difference it is aside from some videos I've seen. Are you like me and making the jump from PS3/360 to PC or are you jumping ship from PS4/Xbone?

I'm looking forward to playing GTAV and hearing your experiences with the PC version. I promise I'm not collecting data from you for the F.I.B. and/or Lester. :)

Going to go buy it in an hour or so. Can't download it, it'd take probably a month with Australia's shit internet.

    Apparently it's on 7 DVDs.

Lol. My Internet use to suck but we changed providers to the one my Dad works for and everything runs better. The Wi-Fi is now just as good as a wired connection.

I heard about the retail version and I was surprised they didn't just use a Blu-Ray. I guess not enough people have BD-ROM drives yet (I only know one person with a BD-ROM drive on their PC). I wonder if they use the biggest DVDs available. They could have used double-sided discs to limit the number down to only a couple discs. That would probably make counterfeits harder to spot though.

More expensive to produce, DVDs are dirt cheap. I do love the packaging for the retail release though. The DVDs fold out like a wallet... or a row of condoms LOL.

I want to see reviews first, but I know that I will be definetly buying this game.
Just imagine all of the mods. And GTA V with an ENB would be amazing.

I've wanted to get it since they first announced it. I'm still debating whether I should get that or something else, but either way I'll probably get it eventually. I avoided the 360 and PS3 versions because I wanted to wait for the PC version (though it's taken a long fucking time), and I don't have a PS4 or an Xbox One. I'm sure my computer will be able to run it well, and downloading it shouldn't be an issue, as I have a pretty fast internet connection. If it actually is 60GB, I might need to install another SSD, which I've been meaning to do for a long time anyway. I already have the drive, I just need to install it and do some stuff with my data.

I only have 80.1 GB left on my laptop's HDD after it finished. Gonna fire it up and get my character transferred.

I'm sure you'll keep us posted on how it is. No doubt it'll be the definitive version. I only wish I had a gaming PC.

As long as it's not as bad as GTA IV's PC version...

Let's hope they don't make the same mistake twice. Maybe that's why V was delayed so much. I don't remember GTA IV's release being delayed nearly as long as V's.

It's actually running pretty solid. I've had one lock up so far though.
I'll play a bit more today

I just fired it up this morning and it was running horrible. Because of my PC, it runs at minimum graphical settings and at 800x600. I had to bump it up to 75Hz just so it ran slightly smoother. I normally don't have to for games. There were a lot of graphical issues because of my laptop. It's a little hard for me to control it with mouse and keyboard. I haven't tried an Xbox 360 controller yet.

My closest friend and I were trying to get it running on her laptop but the game kept crashing due to her on-board graphics being a weak Intel HD 4000 chipset and the bare minimum requirements. Her and I talked about getting the parts to build her a gaming PC so she can play the game. As for me, my desktop just needs a HDD, Windows (prefer 8.1 or 10), more RAM, and a bigger power supply. Hopefully the NVidia card I have should run it decently at 720p.

downloaded the 62gb in less then 2 hours and runs great on my laptop at very high settings. I played it on xbox 360 and this is very similar except for first person mode and higher graphics/framerate really

    I have GTA V for the PS3, and it's a great game, and graphically one of the best on the PS3. I will be getting the PC version though for two reasons;

    1. First person view - I always believe that first person is much more immersive than third, and if this was the only change for the PC version, I'd still buy it.

    2. Mods! The GTA games always benefit hugely from great mods, and GTA V will hopefully be no exception.

I'm waiting until Batman: Arkham Knight comes out though, as I'm going to ugrade my PC to run B:AK and GTA V, so I want to have both games so I know what GFX card I need to buy.

I thought about it, but i'll probably get the PS4 version first.

My computer is a 2500K @ 4Ghz, GTX 560 OC 1GB and 4GB 1600MHz Ram. Was planning to upgrade the videocard and ram, but the recent Real depreciation meant the prices have risen too much. I'm curious about what modders will do, but i can just play the original game and buy the PC version when it goes cheaper in a year or so. By then, hopefully, the PC part prices are better.

I'll wait a bit later when there is a Steam Sale over it. Currently enjoying my 3DS. :)

A lot of people are saying that Rockstar made the game hard to mod.
I don't think that that is the case, because they know how popular is the GTA modding scene.
And Open IV is in the process of being updated and that will probably open the game for modding.
Besides, there are already mods for the Xbox 360 and PS3, so mods for the PC will come.
