Just watched the Grand Theft Auto V game play trailer and I must say this game type is growing steadily like a virus. The various activities and mini games involved in this one are mind boggling. It looks like GTA, Read Dead, Midnight Club and a few others all rolled into one, tied together by a segmented storyline whereby you switch between characters (another interesting feature to me). I wasn't expecting much from this game I admit, just more of the same in a different setting with slightly improved graphics. Looking at the trailer it is undeniably a beautiful looking game and the action scenes look stunning, definitely can't wait to sink my teeth into this instalment. I'm actually starting to wonder if I'll even have the time to cover everything. It's even a little off putting in that respect ironically... I really hope they put some effort into the PC version. I'm tempted to buy it on PS3 then sell it and buy PC version when it becomes available, I just wish they'd released them all together. PC version will probably suffer from being a console 'leftover' from the rumblings I'm hearing... Apologies if this thread or similar has already been posted, I did search and found nothing.
I too am impressed. I don't see how multiplayer will work out knowing tons of people have the mindset to kill as many people as possible. Looks like a vast improvement though.
I'm more looking forward to Saints Row 4, but may get GTAV somewhere down the line if and when they release a PC version.
This looks excellent, the main thing I wanted from IV was more stuff to do and a more interesting map, and they've apparently delivered big time. I'm also glad some of the features from San Andreas (probably one of my favorite games of the last 10 years), like bicycles and planes, are back in the game. It didn't work in IV with random people, so you'll probably wanna play with friends in this one too.
Looking good! I can see myself spending many, many hours on this. The extra stuff you can do in these games is always fun.
The story is one thing but I could see myself just spending hours and hours just goofing around on this one. Its the sheer apparent scale of it that impresses me the most. Hopefully that will hold up when I get my hands on it.
How many DVDs on Xbox360??? I hate swapping disc when you know PS3 version will fit onto a single disc. I won't be buying a PS3 only for this game of course. That's where a JTAG Xbox comes in handy with the disc swap plugin! It's got to be one of the feature I find the most useful. That and ripping all your games and never have to put in a disc in your Xbox.
I watched ten seconds of the trailer, wet my pants and switched it off. Some games I just prefer to keep it as a surprise, this is one of those games. From what I saw it looks gorgeous and by far one of the most expansive games I've seen, fingers crossed they learned their lesson with the mechanics of GTAIV and went back to the fun style of gameplay of SA instead of a stiff and over realistic game like the last one was.
i dont think i even own any multi dvd games for the 360, at least none that you need to swap discs for anyway. but yeah i agree
This game looks awesome, too bad about the lack of PC version though, the graphics look good but I have the impression that once its out we are going to see a lot of details (lack of) here and there due to the aging HW of these consoles. I mean seriously, do they even plan to launch for the nextgen? is right around the corner and GTAV would make for a kickass launch title. Maybe they are waiting for that so they can base the PC version on the nextgen? it makes sense since PS4 and Xbone are both X86, maybe its because of that. Still the PC version of GTAIV was awful, the controls alone ruined the game.
Wat. Out of curiosity, why have you been avoiding GTA? It's an incredible game- maybe the story isn't your interest, but you should at least get a taste for the wonderful open-world experience. I haven't played any other sandbox game with quite a feeling like I get in GTA (especially IV)- There's a certain attention to detail Rockstar gives that makes it feel that much more real. I'm seriously disappointed about the lack of a PC version, especially since I just ditched my PS3 for a PC gaming. I can't believe they would release a AAA title with next gen graphics and level style on 7 year old technology. It's disgusting. inb4 console hater, no, I like consoles for certain games. If I want top quality gameplay, I want KB/M controls. I think one of the main reasons was the fear of the game being cracked and pirated like crazy, which happened on GTA IV after they removed mandatory GFWL. I, for one, paid for the game but installed a no CD patch because I hate using CDs all the time (and I have no disc drives)
Well I reckon after this installation, if they carry on in this vein then they're gonna have to start thinking about renaming the franchise to something else because there are a lot of un GTA like activities in there. I'm also upgrading my gaming rig and it would be nice to be able to play on that instead of an overheating 6 year old machine. It'll be at least 8 months until PC users get a port of sorts so I'll be resorting to getting the ps3 version until then. I'll just sell it when the time comes which I should be able to do without a problem.
