Another one grinding my brain. Battlefront looks amazing.......but no single player, the DLC Curse, It's a tech demo not a game. So Alternatives? I may be in the minority but I do like Masters of Teras kasi. It's not an alternative to Battlfront but it's not terrible.
I'm still partial to Shadows of the Empire myself. Also Rogue Squadron II on GCN was pretty good IIRC.
Atari's Star Wars arcade game. It may be old but I figure I spent more time playing that one than any other Star Wars game.
This was on reddit recently.. Star Wars Kinect https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/3oojup/just_a_reminder_that_this_exists/
Star Wars Kinect is the Christmas special of Star Wars games. I'd also make a Medichorean Joke but I don't care what the prequels say Medicloreans don't exist. Actually for that matter the prequels don't exist either. Which makes the Pod racer games oddities rather than tie ins.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. My favorite Star Wars game. Although they've aged a little poorly, Dark Forces I and II are pretty decent. I liked Episode I for PS1, but I haven't played it in a while. I second Republic Commando.
In my opinion, Jedi Academy with some mods is the perfect Star Wars game. It still has an active online community as well. Another good option are the Lego Star Wars games. They follow the story extremely close, but they are made more for a younger audience. I would also recommend Star Wars Racer revenge for the PS2 if you like racing games. And of course Battlefront 1 and 2, Republic Commando, Knights of the old republic, etc.
Everyone should play the 4 N64 games. They're great. I need to play that Kinect game. I keep delaying it.
KOTOR, Battlefront 1 & 2, the X-Wing games, the Trilogy Arcade game (if you can find the Battlepod, it's really freaking cool), Super Star Wars is ok, Dark Forces 1 & 2, and Episode 1 Racer was the literal best thing to come from that movie.
X-Wing vs Tie Fighter is my favorite as far as simulation goes. Dark Forces games are pretty good for FPS. Even Force Commander is pretty good. I did put a good amount of time into the first two Battlefront games, being able to use vehicles is a plus.
Star Wars Trilogy (for Model 3) and Star Wars Racer Arcade (for Hikaru) are really good. It's too bad they never had a home release, but Trilogy is somewhat playable in Supermodel. Shadows of the Empire for N64 is pretty good, though rather hard. A friend of mine growing up really liked that game.
I love the Rogue Squadron games. This year I finished the first one on the N64 for the first time. It was a great game. Battle for Naboo is also good but not as good as Rogue Squadron. Also, I enjoyed what I have played of the 32X Star Wars game. I didn't play it much but I remember getting impressed by how good it looked.
Hmmm... Dark Forces II, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, KOTOR, Episode 1 Racer and Rogue Squadron (N64). Jontron is doing a series specifically on Star Wars games, here's the latest one:
