gscartsw: automatic 8:1 SCART-RGB switch

The same happens to me. From what I observe, that delay comes from XRGB itself, they have some sort of timer setup to detect or forward the signal. It can't be fixed from switch side.

Schematics is OK, no problems found, PCB's are being designed currently.

 

Damn. I have noticed you can improve things by setting auto sync to off ans turning sync level down to 0, but some consoles still have a delay. Usually doing using this sort of setting causes sync issues, but I haven't noticed any problems. I think it's because I'm using a sync stripper in my cable, which is why I was hoping there would be an external solution.

Any time frame on when they might be ready for purchase?

 

I don't know yet, first waiting list then we'll see. Eventually it will be available on a "buy it now" basis.

 

It's definitely a XRGB Mini thing. Does the same with my TV too and I don't have a switch yet. I think it has something to do with HDCP hand off between the TV and Mini; it just doesn't do it very well. It's like one of the only complaints anyone has on the Mini.

 

Particularly annoying if you have a game that switches resolution modes for menus / loading screens.

I got my 8 way switcher from you last August, and it's been fantastic. However, over the last week, I've noticed that the X1_A2 SCART socket no longer accepts any input.

I've disconnected all other SCART plugs, and then try one console in SCART sockets 1, 2 and 3. Sockets 1 & 3 both display the image, but socket 2 never shows anything. The PVM says "no input" on screen.

Ok, got home from work, tried a different console in socket 2, and that's working… will rearrange the lot and see how we go.

 

I would love one of these! Any ideas when the waiting list will re-open!? Looks incredible.

Make sure it isn't mechanical problem, there can be bad contact between some pins. In your case if you don't see anything on screen it means that either scart pin 8 (if you don't use external power) or pin 16 from X1_A2 doesn't reach logic chip.
If you have multimeter and know how to use it - let me know and I will tell specifically what you have to do to find source of that problem.
Here's what else you can try:
under X1_A2 on the opposite side of the board there are components with names XX_A2 (few resistors diodes etc) - apply more solder there (if you can solder), I had to refresh solder on few boards I've got from my manufacturer.

 

I will definitely order one once there is availability.

I made the mistake of buying one of those awful silver 5 way splitters after seeing one in a YouTube video. I should save my pennies to get one of these when they're available for our order again.

 

Yeah, I bought a pretty bad one myself. I'm ready to throw cash at my screen when this is available.

 

Yeah I know what you mean. I have a bandridge auto 5-way scart switch and it works okay (I only spent like 35 bucks shipped to USA when they were a lot cheaper), but I would like to have one of one of SuperG's EU Scart switches to complete my setup.

 

I just joined this forum hoping to score one of these, hopefully they go up again soon. I need 1 or 2
