Man, I wish I could wait for these to be available. For now I'm going with two THOR 28578T's. Not the cheapest things out there but the quality seems what I am looking for. I have 4 systems so I'll be daisy chaining them into an SLG-in-a-Box. I still looking forward to picking this up though, it seems to be the exact thing everyone needs.

I've just completed composite detection prototype board:

The thing here is to make sure that every console is properly detected.

    Merry Christmas!

Update: Few problems has been found in composite detection circuit. Nothing serious, although I have to order few additional components and retest.

I got my scart to component converter over a week ago, for my sanyo component sd crt, (it works with light gun games btw) and it was worth it! Now all my games now are sharp, colorful and have last but not least... SCANLINES!!! As soon as these things are up for sale again, I'm getting this! I don't think I should have any problems with this at all! If there is problems using this with converters, let me know, but I highly doubt it. If I get this, my setup is then completed!

A few questions for ya Superg

1.How many switches do you plan on making for this go around?
2.How many of these will be going to people on the current (from a while back) waiting list? (I know there aren't going to be any additions to that list)
3.Are you planning on doing a 2nd run (assuming you run out so quickly i don't have a chance to get one) soon after?

This batch will be 10 switches. I really want to make sure it'll go smooth. Currently it looks like it should.
Subsequent batches can be as large as needed. As long as I don't change the design - turnaround time for the batch is ~2 weeks.
The waiting list is 40 people long. They will get their switches first.
There should be enough switches for everybody once everything will be finally figured out. I want to exclude myself from the distribution at all, this is not the best use of my time. There are people who would like to do distribution.

    Now a little update:
Composite detection prototype board v2 works really well. So far I've tested SNES-NTSC, SNES-JR, SNES-PAL, NES, Dendy (NES-clone) and Genesis. All of the other consoles will be tested until the end of this week.

@superg: How do the JP21 switches fit in with all of this? Are they a different run or part of the 10 you will be making?

There are less than 10 people waiting for JP21 version, most likely it'll go in parallel with first batch (5-10 switches).

This looks fantastic superg. I'm wondering if you would be willing to sell these in D.I.Y. Kit form for the guys and gals that have decent electronic know how and soldering skills? or even release the schematic so folks can build them themselves from scratch?
