Some gscartsw users are using modded N64 but I don't know if they use BVM/PVM or Framemeister.
I don't think you can easily find VGA->SCART cable. Can you post the link here?

I appreciate the VGA out as it eliminates the need for an XSYNC box in my setup before going into an XCAPTURE.

I sent a message with links to this thread and the FAQ on Retro RGB to the lady that makes cables on ebay in the US (you linked to her a post or two back). I've asked if she could make one for use with this machine; I'll post any reply I get here.

Picked up my package from the costums yesterday and tried to power it on with two different Master System 2 PSUs and a Mega Drive 1 PSU (checked them on consoles beforehand) but it does not power on, it seems. The LED lights up just a little bit and flickers, but it does not show any picture. I get buzzing on some consoles, but that's it. :(

It's likely that your power supply is faulty. Turn it off immediately if you hear any kind of buzzing. If your PSU is above 12V you can fry the switch and it won't be replaced.

Like I already wrote, I tested it with 3 PSUs, all tested on the consoles before. It's the same with all of them.

I might add that the buzzing came from the TV, only when switching on a Master System. No buzzing from the gscartsw.

    I'm sending you a PM.

Everybody: 100% of the switches has been tested personally by me before shipping, it's very unlikely that those has been damaged during transportation. There is a polarity protection but if voltage exceeds the operating range the switch can be fried.

Just had a reread of this whole thread, passing time until delivery really, and it's still not here! Even though this is a long thread! Really can't wait for this to arrive. One minor thing, I don't have a tracking number yet.

I bought this one, will report back if it’s working: http://www.ebay.de/itm/141356357945?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Looking at the pins now I’m not sure it’ll work. My plan was to hook up a HDFURY to gscartsw. It can output both RGBHV and YPbPr via VGA, so I’m looking for a solution to go VGA (HDFURY out) -> SCART (gscartsw in).

Well, maybe it’ll work if I output YPbPr. If it doesn’t work: At least it wasn’t an expensive cable. ;)

Pin 13 from the VGA connector needs to connect to Pin 20 on the SCART plug, which it doesnt. You could rewire it yourself, should be pretty simple if you have some soldering skills. Also you wont get audio through that cable (incase thats an issue) So connecting it to something like a Framemeister will work (provided you rewire the csync pin) but you'll only get a picture with no sound.

Right, but HDFURY outputs RGBHV, so shouldn't H+V be combined, then connected to pin 20? No audio is no problem, didn’t expect audio from a VGA port. ;)

Never soldered in my life but this might be doable after watching a few videos on soldering or something.

Oh I see. Well the process would be the same. Pin 13 (HSYNC) on the VGA side should still be wired to Pin 20 on the SCART connector. Not sure where Pin 14 (VSYNC) on the VGA side should be wired to though.

    Hi superg

I've been monitoring this page https://squareup.com/store/retrorgb/item/gscartsw-v-pre-order everyday for the last month.
Not sure how I missed out on this last shipment. I've had my money reserved for this all month. Was I supposed to send you a PM or something? Is there anyway I can order one still?

    Thank you sir!

You'll probably have to wait like the rest of us, until the next batch of preorders opens.

The orders which were just sent out to people. Were those all pre-orders from March or something?

    thanks

This seems to be what I want to do: http://www.geocities.ws/podernixie/htpc/cables-en.html#vgascart Seems simple enough, I’ll open the SCART connector, de-solder pin 10 and 12, put a 100k resistor on each line, then connect them both to pin 20. I’ll report back. :D

You don't need to route VGA pin 14 and you don't need 1K resistor from pin 13, just connect vga pin 13 to SCART pin 20.
