Ok, thanks and apologies for the repetition of a previously answered question.

I had assumed that pin 10 (which from a diagram I saw, provides csync from the dreamcast) would still be providing sync even is its sending 31khz 480p signal. I wonder if there is something else I could try if that's not the case.

Hmm, thanks for the info. So, how about this. Since Hsync is enabled in both 15 and 31khz modes, and the gscartsw has the VGA HSync/CSync mode selection (ON/OFF switch) feature. Could I mod the Scart cable to receive its sync from pin 9 hsync instead of pin 10 csync on a permanent basis?

VGA HSync/CSync mode selection is completely unrelated to your case, you misunderstand it's function.
If you'll send HSync where do you think your display will get Csync signal from, reconstruct it from the air?
There is no simple solution here, your output device (XRGB-Mini / TV / PVM) should get full sync information which is either CSYNC (combined horizontal and vertical sync) or two separate HSYNC and VSYNC. gscartsw accepts CSYNC sync, does the detection and forwards it. Depending on VGA mode selection switch it either splits CSYNC to HSYNC and VSYNC (which is needed for reference VGA output) or sends CSYNC using VGA HSYNC pin (kinda non-standard mode because this way VGA connector functions exactly like the 2nd SCART output).

Simply it means that CSYNC should be supplied on SCART input no matter what.
Due to Dreamcast VGA mode, it's HSYNC and VSYNC has to be combined to CSYNC prior to reaching gscartsw, as simple as that.

There are a lot of ways to achieve what you need:

Perfect, I was leaning towards needing to create some kind of sync combiner, as my first guess was never going to work. The second link you sent gives me exactly what I need to make my own sync combiner circuit and adaptor for the scart cable. Also I have a clearer understanding of how your switch works. Thanks.

    Two quick questions:
    1) I think it's amazing that this switch has automatic switching, but just out of curiosity... ...what would happen if multiple consoles were turned on at once? Would it possibly damage the device? Would it switch to the newest console turned on or remain with whichever console was turned on first?
    2) I swore I read this somewhere (sorry if I'm being redundant), but just want to confirm... Audio is fed through SCART and the 3.5mm jack simultaneously, correct? I ask because I want to feed the audio to my receiver from the 3.5mm, but send the audio on through SCART as well so it'll be on the HDMI line when I split it out to a recording device from the framemeister.

Thanks! (Watching this thread like a hawk... Hope I can pick up one of the extras...)

    1. There is a priority, INPUT 1 is the top priority, then INPUT 2 and so on. Nothing bad is gonna happen if you'll turn on all these simultaneously.
    2. You are correct, you get audio from both SCART and 3.5 jack at once.

I would think that the potential market for these is not so small but the problem lies in getting the information to reach these creatures! Have the japanese retro sites been informed of the existence of the product?

Hit up reddit.com/r/retrogaming and reddit.com/r/gamecollecting. Beyond that and NintendoAge, and possibly AtariAge, I'm not sure who else would want to know. If you have a problem on gamecollecting, just let me know; I'm a mod.

There are already a few Japanese customers who have ordered some, but I don't know Japanese and obviously I can't do anything about that :)

I will create a thread on the English Amiga Board, there are plenty of people here who have multiple machines and do not necessarily follow retrogaming/gamecollecting on reddit (I was one of them before your post ;)). I am sure this should bring a few more orders.
In general, the more advertising there is the better because once you reach a certain number of informed people you get a snowballing effect.

Regarding Japan, young japanese are certainly more English aware than their parents but the retro fans likely are part of the generation which did not get much chance to practice English so I would think they simply do not visit international sites too much.

Maybe you could PM Yakumo/RetroCore about it? He probably knows a few Japanese retro sites where the information could be posted.
Moreover he does speak Japanese for sure. ;)

Everybody usually are using SCART and SCART pre-orders are already closed as I've launched the production. Yakumo knows about the switch and moreover he's the owner for the first JP21 unit ever :) (he has got it months ago everybody else), don't know what else can be done.

I meant that in general as clearly the closed preorders mean that you will not have much time for anything else. ;)

He knows about it for sure but maybe he did not think of advertising the switch on Japanese sites?
This does not cost much to verify and could send a lot more users your way. ;)

The community here is quite large and diverse and if people did not think of relaying the information it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to ask them for a little push. ;)

    Surely.
There will also be extra SCART units even from this batch.
