damn it i have nothing to play since ages :/ guess i'll have to resort to some snes era rpgs in the meanwhile... nothing good ever comes out, only fps and sequels... T_T
That's what I've been wondering too. This delay is blatantly just to include a mandatory 3.50 update on the disc. Surely there must be a load ready pressed sat somewhere, considering it's this close to the planned November 2nd release. Maybe Sony have just created the ultimate 'Holy Grail' for all you GT collectors?
So basically you are saying that the same game without the 3.50 update included on disc will be an holy grail? you are maybe right i have seen things more stupid then that
I like driving games but I never really understood Forza. It's too technical to be any fun but it's far from realistic in so many aspects - mind you I've never played it with a wheel. On the other hand, GT5 prologue was like real driving (with a Logitech g25 wheel) and that makes me much more interested in GT5
I find I spend more time doing car designs rather than racing in Forza III. For some reason it just doesn't have the same type of enjoyment and replay value I find in GT games. It does have a lot of innovations that I hope GT5 takes advantage of.
He's a douche, and Turn 10 managed to screw up many things, like multiplayer (matchmaking only and very limited control over most options? WHY) and the balance between cars that seemed to be much better in Forza 2. Still love FM3 though, but the shitty matchmaking multiplayer made me play it a lot less than FM2. And honestly....GT and Forza are both pretty arcadey. You want realism, check out rFactor on PC.
GT5 Prologues' Professional setting in combination with a wheel and all auxiliary systems off makes for a true driving experience in my book. That's how my mate "tested" an RX8 before buying one
To be honest i don't have anything against Forza or the Turn10 team. I just dislike the whole "I'm the best" attitude of it's director, Dan Greenwalt. Read this for more on that: http://classygamer.blogspot.com/2009/09/dan-greenwalt-how-not-to-market-game.html Ever since Gran Turismo was released, lots of game studios tried to copy it's style. Most of them failed badly. One good competitor released on PS2 was Enthusia. It was such a good competitor that Polyphony Digital hired some of the guys that worked on it, because Konami simply layoff them. Turn10 was created by Microsoft to create it's own competitor. And they succeeded. But here's is where the differences appear. On all these years of success, you never saw Kazunori Yamauchi or anyone at PD bragging about their work. PD is a relative small team that does all work on their games (i think they should hire more people). Turn10 on the other hand, outsource most of the stuff on the game like 3d models. PD Team travels to circuits around the world to get as much detail as possible (LeMans circuit on GT4 / GT5 is way more bumpy / real than Forza 3). Not to mention PD gained lots of respect of car companies, to the point of developing aero kits for Nismo, the multi-purpose display on the GT-R, the design of the Citroen GT and so on. Does PD say shit like "We make the best racing game ever" ? No. Dan Greenwalt does.
I just posted because it's funny. If you read what i wrote, i said Forza 3 is a good game. Anyways, it has been out for a while so probably all bugs posted on youtube were fixed. And i'm sure when GT5 gets released will have bugs as well.
Just for the record, the US Collector's Edition is now sold out at Gamestop and Amazon. Thankfully i secured my copy some time ago, thanks to Assembler. If you still want the US Collector's Edition, you should try BestBuy, Buy.com or Barnes & Noble More info here: http://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-us-collectors-edition-sold-out-at-amazon-gamestop/
Indeed, controllnig a Lotus Elise around the Daytona track in professional with everything off is a challenge and a half. Still GT5 is one of the few games I am really looking forward to this year.
