:banghead: OH: :dammit: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/10/13/gran-turismo-5-release-update/ WTF Sony!? First it was because the whole 3D sh*t, now probably to add some security feature because of the jailbreak thing (probably the same reason why LBP2 and Socom4 got delayed as well). Even if it's a one month delay, i'll probably have to wait till January, since i pre-ordered the CE version (thanks to Assembler and sonik). And there's no way i'll ask Assembler to ship this on December chaotic month for the mail system. Sorry guys, but i had to make this rant.
I won't believe it's out until I can pick it up off a shelf. I know it's frustrating but it's hard to be surprised.
I'm sorry for your loss Johnny but in a way I'm kind of relieved. This gaming season is already bankrupting me so I can use some space between game releases. Besides... Some of my enthusiasm for the game was lost when I learned about the whole premium/standard car laziness. How can you not have cockpit view in this day and age?
My guess is its simply not done. They haven't shown off all the features yet, so for them to need some polish, it doesnt surprise me.
I saw it coming... Sadly... I was thinking about getting a PS3 in the coming months but with these delays there's no way I get one until I see this game released. The thing is we're talking about a huge project, probably the polishing and bug-fixing stage is taking more time than what they expected. If this is the case, I prefer waiting a bit more than seeing a rushed and buggy release (for example, GTA 4 didn't run on my computer until the fourth patch, and Fallout 3 ran awfully slow until the first patch).
In Japan, 3D BRAVIA TV-Ad on the air from 9 Oct ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SStM7wg0u2k (GT5 footage included. probably shoot in Jul or Aug.) but from the first, GT was not used in BRAVIA catalogue promotions. SONY do not seem to have thought that GT5 was released on schedule. they used MotorStorm II ; Aug (2010.8) and Sep (2010.9) avobe. the catalogue for October is not yet published. delayed over 2 weeks already.
That joke is so fucking old, if it were to hold any truth then we wouldn't have so many Demo Kiosks and videos floating around.
Since we were so close to release, were any production discs manufactured and sitting in a warehouse somewhere? I wonder if they'll pop up on ebay.
