Other than pirate hacks of San Andreas: I doubt it exists. It wouldn't have been efficient to start developing for the PS2 knowing that the 7th generation consoles would be out just a couple years after San Andreas.
I am pretty sure no such version exists and if it did, it would probably be the same or similar to that on the PS3 with watered down graphics. I could always be wrong, but a PS2 version would most likely only exist as a early beta.
It is an old tradition to restage a new GTA's trailer using the previous GTA game. Sorry, but I honestly cannot believe someone actually fell for it... lol
The game footage had the "www.fraps.com thing at the top even... I am afraid you will have to settle for better graphics on a soon-to-be replaced console.
it reminds me of Tekken 4 for psx. a hack which all tekken 3 characters are available from start. (and of course a new cover art)
San An Studios for spawning cars, pedestrians and utilizing animations, CamHack (for movie/trailer like camera angles and movements) and Fraps for recording.
Looks like plain Liberty City Stories and Cheat Device (that allow still cameras, building features, pimp cars and other weired stuff). On PSP and recorded using the infamous GIF recording feature, thats why quality sucks (and DivX, of course).
There's another fake GTA:IV for PS2 out there- in which someone's used a map editor to make a terrible rendition of Broker from IV, east of the San Andreas map... using GTA SA's models! If I can find it I'll post it
Ah, I was under the impression from the shot going by the stadium that was the motorway next to the stadium in Southern San Fierro. I think a camhack exhists for LCS though. *makes note of interest*
Sorry for being foolish. I was really hoping the game for PS2 existed due to nostalgia of playing PS2. I honestly live in the past when it comes to technology and hate moving on, hence the hope of GTA IV being on PS2.
There seems to be a trend around these parts of late. It involves picking a game which just might have run on a lesser console with some serious optimisation and cuts and then asking if it existed. Doesn't hurt to ask I guess but there seems to be a lot of it going on.
The PS2 is brilliant (especially if you use Open PS2 Loader to load the games from the hard drive, and McBoot to boot from the memory card*), as is the PS3, but GTA IV is a terrible game, IMHO, it's just dull and tedious. San Andreas is the best GTA game in my opinion. * See http://s9.zetaboards.com/Nintendo_64_Forever/single/?p=8126673&t=7371524
Seeing the title of this thread reminded me of this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qroExuprAl4
You serious? SA already pushed the PS2 past the breaking point, with some of the slim ones overheating and dying. So basically R* had to move on to better hardware, there is no way PS2 was even considered when dev work on GTAIV started. And that crappy lowdef video is just GTAIII with a character skin of niko.
