GTA pre-release version - does this look different to you?

could you guys possibly suggest a place to upload the iso ? and when its up do i just post a link in here ?

I appreciate you taking the time to upload this for all of us! Does this disc have music tracks during the game when you play it (radio stations)? If it did originally, unfortunately you have used an incorrect method to rip the disc and the music tracks have been deleted from this iso.

To rip games properly that have cda audio tracks, it must be ripped in img+ccd+cue+sub format. This can be done easily using Alcohol 52% (free) or CloneCD (not free).

yes it does have audio like you stated. sorry i could rip it again but after i ripped it i burnt it to a cd-r and tested it on my ps1 before uploading here and it worked with all the music in tact no problem tho guys. just wanna give back where possible.

EDIT: i used alcohol 120% to burn this and just tried again to double check and again it played with full audio.

 

Hmm.. perhaps this beta uses redbook audio instead of cda, that would make sense. I only glanced at the rip format and assumed the beta would use the same audio format as retail. I will try it out, thanks for letting me know! :subdued:

 

The way you've ripped it (MDF+MDS) seems fine to me. A lot of people have the misconception that only CUE+whatever will work for CDDA tracks, maybe true way back when PS1 games were first being ripped but not now. Thanks for sharing! :encouragement:

Can anyone confirm this is before the release build of GTA?
Some of the files on the disc are dated 25/5/98 :suspicion:

 

I thought this might have been related to the alternate graphics set, (See: http://tcrf.net/Grand_Theft_Auto) but this looks completely different, and of course the textures are also a higher quality than the alternate graphics set.

I can't try it out because I couldn't get it to work on any PSX emulator. Just a black screen or the software stopped responding.
