Do you have to use something like DosBox to run these?

i remember this version too, according to gouranga, the version was cancelled because they needed a more powerful hardware.

game kult list the dc version of the game too.

well poeple say the ps2 version is equivalent to the low version for pc, that means the dreamcast could handle, if you compare the ps2 version of san andreas vs gta 3 for pc, obviously the san andreas wins, and they could use the windows ce technology to put the game on a gd rom (the pc version is less than 1 gb).

If anyone can ever find that Mag, I'd love to see. Did it look similar to the PS2 Version? & Any guess on what mag it was? EGM?

PS2 has more system ram, 32mb vs 16mb if memory serves. This allows for more resources to be loaded into memory allowing for a rather expansive world like GTA does. Doesn't mean its impossible to do GTA3 on the DC, likely means more loading screens and less on screen.

I think this news is worthy to bring back this thread:

"Ex-DMA Design chap Mike Dailly has posted the original GTA design documents up on Flickr. The game, released in 1997, was to be called Race’n’Chase, and was developed back when men were men: there’s 1Mb of space made available for audio. Check out the birth of a giant in the gallery below."

Thanks for sharing again, I missed this one.

Weird though, when attempting to download from Mega I just get an animation which says "downloading", it goes to 100% and nothing further happens. No prompts, no file downloads, nothing.

    What a useless service...
