Half Life alpha and other protos on Reddit

Well apparently he released the half life alpha ~ 9 hours ago....at least supposedly ( haven't had the chance to verify it )

 

Ive seen video of it, looks to be the real deal

No wonder why they were desperate with the level design, thank god they remade the entire game.

 

There seem to be two builds online? One from 4th sept. and one from 8 sept. ?
They also ahve different sizes, which one the correct one now?

Make sure you load the actual maps, and not just the tech demo

 

Holy shit it finally happened! This is amazing. The game runs perfectly, and oh jesus all the sections from old magazines' pictures are there, and things that I never knew about.

The monster from the second room is something new for me, I can't remember it from any old photo or concept art. I will have to check Raising the Bar to see if it is there:



This build is 3 months older than the one in Geoff Keighly's hands. So far, what a way to start the year!

 

Like I said, load the other maps, there is lots of cool stuff

 

Is this Half Life on Dreamcast? Sorry if isn't as im at work and cant click on the reddit links.

If it is the Dreamcast Half Life, i have a copy (obv CDR) from years gone by, along with Propella Arena and PB Bowling, im under the assumption thou that the link is not the HL on DC, as i though that was widely available. Maybe im misreading it.

Nope. Its an alpha version of Halflife on the PC, totally different looking game.
