Some of the MAME machines are ok, in my mind.

 

this is why i would never build a mame cabinet, getting the look adn buttons right is a pain in the ass, still funny stuff and its qutie odd how some are done that dont evenr realte to arcade at all.

It's a helluva lot easier to just buy an actual cabinet (one of about a billion SF Series ones!) and use that....why oh why make these HUUUUGE atrocities? Does anybody remember that very few arcade cabinets had giant control panels that were wider than the rest of the machine? And the buttons...Oh the buttons... Aren't six buttons for each player, two joysticks, and two starts enough?

Great comments and some very funny looking machines. Not that I could build anything great, but if I built something crappy I wouldn't be posting pics anywhere of it.

I nearly wet myself at the Pac-Matt commentary. Those are some pretty horrible designs there. Kinda cool that he critiqued his own, as well.

Urrrghhhh. There's some REALLY shoddy 'things' there. Cannot believe some of those button layouts. (especially the one with outrun on).

Man...I just looked at this again. Fucking awful...so many instances of my biggest mame cabinet pet peeve (aside from the fact that they exist): 15 inch monitors with fifteen fucking foot bezels....unnngh. Just buy a cabinet.

 

I'm still reading and laughing. It's not often I really do 'lol' at crap on the internet. But this guy is funny.

And some of those people should be ashamed. My god, just sit in front of your PC and use a Saturn USB pad or an Xbox pad. You don't deserve a nice cabinet if your playing romz.

All those small monitors make me laugh. I suppose we're pretty lucky in the UK, cheap Asda special 21" tellys with RGB scart are only about £150.
