Hey: I just purchased a copy of halo 3 for delivery on Friday.... cost me $180 with shipping. Normally $70, so $110 premium for having it early. My reasons are: 1) Brag rights - I now can say I had all Halo Versions before their release. 2) Don't need to take a day off of work to play it on Tuesday, I can play it all weekend without any worries. 3) Halo 3 party before any else! To me it was worth it, plus I woulda spent that $110 on something stupid anyway. Jeff.
considering many are getting the game for the ordinary price, since yesterday, from Argos.. you ve kinda been pwn3d i guess :\
WOW! No no wait about 5 people i know got it yesterday morning... For RRP. (And while i was on the way to argos i was thinking why am i paying £40 for a game i can get for £34 on release day! Maybe i shouldnt buy it) stupid btw!
what a man does with his own money is no one else's business to judge really. So if you think you did the right thing, then you have.
I'd probably vote 'non-genius', as surely you could have waited until the weekend after to start playing and save yourself 110 bucks (which could have at least bought you another 2 games). The fact is that it's not a 'time-limited offer', you have the rest of your days to play it, and as such I think you have squandered your earnings. But I suppose whatever gives you the jollies. I, on the other hand, am looking forward to the game BUT despite having the money to buy it, won't until I can give it my full attention.
You better BETTER really take advantage of that weekend party sneak preview thing you spoke about. MAKE IT HUGE (but not to the point where anybody can just come over uninvited). Make it known that someone fucked up and you're enjoying Halo 3 before most everyone else does. But most of all, share the wealth.
No way I'm buying it on launch day. I'll probably rent it, but I'm sure as hell not buying it. $60 is a lot of money to spend on a game I'll probably only play in multiplayer. Instead, I'm gonna spend that money on a Shins concert, and I'll probably have change left over for gas and a good meal. A much better use of money, if you ask me.
Thanks guys Yea, Ima have a good halo3 party.... they also confirmed anyone found playing before release online will NOT be banned. So, I'll be ok. Also, I've played roughly 4k double teams, so I have no doubt in my mind I'll get my money's worth out of halo3 BarCode: amen brother! Jeff.
$180 bucks? I suppose you're talking about the ultimate version with the MC helmet right? Well, your question is kinda weird, since if you crave halo then is a good idea no matter what your peers tell you. Now, if what you want is to keep it in your collection in hope that you may be able to sell it for a profit in the future, well thats good as long as you dont friggin open the package!. Halo is now beyond the games, is becoming a pop culture icon like LoTR, and if Jackson gets the movie budget he wants then the halo mania we've all seen during these years is going to look like nothing when compared to what the movie will unleash. Therefore, just like the first issue of SpiderMan jumped from $10k to more than $20k after the first movie, you may be able to sell your mint collection of Halo games for some serious bucks when the movie gets released (and if it is a success). But if you bought the game for your "personal use" then forget it: used copies never fetch that much... Yeah like.....5 lapdances, or something...
Well if Halo 3 was likley to be rare and sell very few copies then it would be genius but it's likely to be the best selling Xbox 360 game and will likely drop by over $20 at the end of the first week and probably be $40 or less by the end of the month, so you're at utter moron. Tonight I am getting Halo 3 and thankfully not cost me a penny.
I'm talking about collectors stuff, that means it has to be in MINT condition (how many people buys a game to let it sit in a drawer?) and not a few months dumbass! it takes years to see any price increase... So I suppose you're going to illegally download the game huh? yay for helping the industry
Given that I have no pirate games at all, the chances are is it is going to be legitimate copy. So how am I going to get a copy of Halo 3 before release for free? Well I am going to hold up Microsoft Hong Kong at gunpoint with a BB gun until they give me at least 5 copies. Or truthfully, I am going to be given a copy for review purposes. ^_^
