Your right on that since bungie is still checking for bugs and stuff. It wont be going live till Tuesday which is release day but you can play on xbconnect. Also my friend downloaded it the other day and has already completed in what he said was 7 hours he claimed. Kinda a disappointment on the single player front but I'm sure online will be a blast
If you check the uk xbox newsgroup someone did a small review and the first thing he said was: "I am on mission 8 of 9 already from about 6 hours play on Normal and I didn't think I was particularly good at Halo games in the first place, so the bad news is that it seems shorter than I expected." So maybe playing on normal first time round might not be the best idea.
