I live in Brazil. OS in Brazilian Portuguese. The game doesn't have menus / audio in my language, so apparently it assumed i would prefer playing it in Spanish instead of English or any other language.

They are smart to add a "CD Key" authentication before playing for the first time, but not that smart to add a menu for language selection before downloading the game.

yeah i agree that sucks, there's no real reason in this day and age where a game cannot be multi lingual, at least for major languages, i understand video / audio etc being limited by production time and money to maybe one or two languages, but in game text and menu systems etc can be easily and quickly translated.

I threw in some money. Mainly because I've wanted to check out Battlefield 3 for a while now.

Although it's EA, Origin doesn't seem so bad really, the prices are steep and there's little Mac support but oh well. It's for charity and Origin is a fairly unobtrusive resource free app so it's not going to irritate me.

My biggest issue so far is that it won't download anything. BF3 is a 20GB download. I left it running for 9 hours and it only pulled down 4% when it should have only taken 6-7 hours, also it keeps telling me to verify my email address but that email never turns up, not even in spam.

Many studios use the same companies for localization, which doesn't really speed up the process. Besides that localization (even text only) is a lengthy process which should not be underestimated.

Think of it this way: their origin service may not have been too busy so far, very much not compared to the monolith in business that is Steam.
Now, a LOT of people just installed Origin, who may not have considered doing so before. If even 10% of this people buy games from origin in the future, EA have just made an amazing investment.

That said, their charity drive should still be applauded and not only as a great pr move. I only wish some big game companies like EA did these kinds of things too... oh hey wait a minute, wtf just happened?? is it the apocalypse?

Well, I couldn´t even apply my cdkeys as their service is being hammered. Give it a week and try again, they didn´t apparently quite anticipate the ginormous success of this campaign.

:-/ GF is back from Ireland tomorrow. Was hoping to get a bit of BF3 in before she returns but doesn't look like it's going to happen. Stuck on 7%

Well you do have to figure that it's not every day that you see Battlefield 3 selling for only $5 through their charity drive. It's honestly a surprise that EA didn't anticipate this considering how many people show genuine interest in Battlefield 3 and already play the game. EA should have realized that they are putting some heavy-hitter titles out for people to "buy" for almost nothing.

If my new bank card would ever get here, I'd love to pick up this bundle. I've actually been wanting to try the Dead Space series for quite sometime; however the only thing that gets to me is that they didn't put Dead Space 2 on the list. I've shown some interest for quite some time for wanting to play the Dead Space games but it'd be a nice to play all 3 games as a whole. It's a cheap bundle though so I can't really complain aside from that.

I'm curious, do you only get the core game or do you get the DLC? I ask because I purchased Battlefield 3 roughly around the time that Premium Edition was going on sale for $15-$20 and I realized that the lengthy download time in my case was because every single DLC pack was downloading at the same time which only meant that each download was only allowing 30-40KBps to work with. I know this isn't the case [hopefully not at least], and it could be the fact that the Origin servers are being bogged down so much by the amount of users downloading their games.

I have no idea. It just says Battlefield 3 and nothing else. At 20GB though I'm expecting something special. I had the game briefly for the 360 a while back so hoping the PC version is a little better (control wise etc.).

If I remember correctly, my base game was around 20GB when I bought Battlefield 3. The thing I would be on the look-out for is the DLC because it will make your Origin folder even bigger than it already is/was. I remember sitting through almost 2 days of not being able to play Battlefield 3 because the download was literally reaching around 30GB if not pushing 40GB. It was worth it though which I think makes up for the long wait.

The PC version of Battlefield 3 is almost like its console counterpart. I found the controls to be rather easy to pick up on since I almost never change the controls for any game I play. The only thing I think you will hate at first but you might perhaps like it later on down the road is Battlelog. Battlelog and its plugin will be the thing that you see most for whenever you want to play Battlefield 3. I should also mention that it utilizes your web browser. I mean aside from servers and the controls, it's basically the same game but I found it to be more enjoyable on PC.

Yeah that's just it, I'm usually pretty good with FPS on consoles but BF3 just didn't feel right to me somehow, I can't really explain specifically why but me and that game had a big falling out.

I paid $25 for the bundle and am pretty thrilled to see some more games populate my origin. (and not for a high price). Most of them are games I was missing too. So this was definitely a win for me.
