For those you that didnt notice, theres a new Humble Bundle, Namely the "Humble Origin Bundle" What you get: Dead Space (Steam Keys) Dead Space 3 (Origin only) Burnout paradise Ultimate box (Steam Keys) Crysis 2 Maximum Edition (Steam Keys) Mirrors Edge (Steam Keys) Medal of Honor (Steam Keys) *Battlefield 3 (Origin only) *Sims 3 + Starter pack (Includes The Sims 3, The Sims 3 Late Night Expansion Pack, and The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff) (Origin only) *Pay more than the average to get. Right so this isnt that abnormal till you page down and notice: Origin loves charity. Origin and Electronic Arts Inc. are donating their share of the proceeds from this bundle to the following 5 great charities: the Human Rights Campaign; Watsi; the San Francisco AIDS Foundation; the American Red Cross; or the American Cancer Society. And if you're enjoying this promotion, a tip to Humble Bundle is greatly appreciated! So all the money will go to charity and EA wont see any of it, what on earth happened, is it the apocalypse? https://www.humblebundle.com/
haha i doubt they've a developed a soul, maybe just using a few they've stolen / eaten over the years, im guessing they want more people using origin and also a much boost for their public image
Maybe its a public image thing, but so far its made $1,725,414 , and I am sure EA is hurting a little bit None the less even if I dont really have the funds I got one, well worth it. PS I wonder if they get a tax rebate or something considering its going to charity?
EA has always contributed to charity, not anything new really, but rather a new way at getting positive publicity to help shape their image going into the new console generation. It's PR, nothing more, nothing less, but at least it is PR that benefits good causes.
If you ask me, it's just an image thing. The games are pretty old except for Dead Space 3, people who wanted to buy them at full or even reduced price would've done so by now already.
LOL. Mirror's Edge has been on sale at Steam about a gazillion times. With the exceptions of Dead Space 1 and maybe Crysis 2, all the games are pretty crap too.
Also, 1 million is pocket change to ea. They would have only got a percentage of that anyway... But they advertising budget will far exceed 1 mil. I'm sure they see this as a bargain
It's also an easy way to pull more people into their Origin service, even if they included Steam keys for some of the games.
I remember a while ago (as in months or maybe 1 year+) EA sent out an E-mail survey about Origin. One of the questions was "How likely are you to recommend Origin to a friend?" Lol!!
I doubt it. I suspect all that's happened is that even EA have realized that exhibiting open contempt for your customers is not a smart PR move. I will only believe something has changed when I start meeting EA employees that don't hate the company, and there is no sign of that yet.
it's just EA playing the "we are nice" card to gain publicity to bring people to origin. The steam keys are nice though. I like those
Just reminded why i hate EA so much: Downloaded Medal of Honor. Installed. Then i says i need to authenticate the copy it by typing / copying a CD Key (provided right next to it. Yeah, that stupid) Game runs... in Spanish. I try to change the language in Menu config... No option. Google it. Change some stuff with regedit. Go back to the game... Doesn't work. ... Found the solution on steam forums. Go to the game in steam library, right click it and then go properties. Go to language and choose the one you want to play at. Steam starts downloading 1.4GB...
PC GAMING, ZE MASTA RACE. I paid the "above average" price so that my wife could have Sims 3. ...my copy of MOH runs in english with no changes.
