Has the original Xbox version of Kameo been dumped?

I am offering to pay the entire $100 for the community. Just hit me up if you want to do so as i feel i need to contribute as well.

 

A bit late I took care of it. People are still waiting for one or two people to contribute the 100$ that is left for Made Men e3 if you are interested

the disc will always erase hdd!!! never pop it in unless the box is so fucked up that it needs it. always use the exe when you can.

 

Trust me, I know what I am doing. You dont actually run the recovery past starting it up. But putting it in and launching it gives you access to Xbox Neighborhood, where you can edit a file on the box to remove the password. All without deleting a thing. But there is a reason it is a last ditch effort, something that isn't going to be done right now, since there is no reason

 

If it is really that easy to remove a password on a debug XBox what the hell was the point in having the ability to password it in the first place? Not like a dev studio isn't potentially full of people who are technically adept or anything.

 

This is why I LOVE this community! I LOVE YOU GUYS!

 

Id imagine it is less about a dev studio, and more about trade shows when something is on display (or even a QA person or someone from another team grabbing a build).


Edit: And just to prove I wasn't crazy, I did it myself. Set a password, remove all permissions for my box = me locked out. Note the IP address for the debug kit. Pop in a recovery disk, boot to it. DONT HIT ANY BUTTONS. Add an Xbox to Xbox Neighborhood using the IP, connects perfectly. Load up the E drive, load up XBDM.ini, delete 3 lines, reboot and remove the recovery disk, and voila, no password, and full permissions restored, without losing a single file. Removes the lock and everything.

But I dont recommend that with sensitive data, since if you accidentally hit a button on the controller, the data is deleted.

If all goes well, the game will be up by Tuesday! Im going to try and get as many mirrors going as I can

Glad it worked! It was quite the adventure to get this dumped.

I got a PM reminding me about dumping the Spyro demo. And I'll try and get that one out in the next couple of weeks.
