Ok, not to make Madhatter think I have a Richard Simmons obsession, but I remember now that I had a dream the other day that involved him. Its nothing gay or anything, so don't worry. I was taking a class in High School, and Richard Simmons was the teacher (it was a math class, if I recall right) and nothing of particular interest happened, except....Richard Simmons was the teacher, and somehow I was failing the class. lol
This will fraek you guys out. Give it a read... One time I had a dream. It related to somethings that were going on in my life at that time. It was a very vivid dream. I was in this town. It had this girl, who I went out with on a date once before and still liked, a guy whom she was friends with who she picked over me, and a teacher who I kinda had a crush on back then. The dream started with me walking to my teachers house where I was going to sleep over and so were the girl and the other guy. As I was walking up the street my co-worker drove by in his red car asking me waht I was doing and that I should get to work and kept insisting I get in his red car. He kept saying red carlll (said it in a slurred voice, so I thought it was car he was saying), which I kinda found weird while in the dream. So I kept on walking and I got to her place. Her house was a two story house. I walked in and had dinner. We talked a bit and then it was night time and time for bed. We talked about where we will sleep because her house only had 2 bedrooms. the girl picked the second room and wanted the guy to come in the room too. So I ended up sleeping in the same room with the teacher. I was kinda excited about it because of the crush I had back then. Nothing sexually happened, not even in the other room. This was strictly a non-sexual dream. I woke up during the night (within the dream) and went down stairs to get a drink. Everyone was asleep. As I got to the stairs I saw that at the bottom of the stairs in front of the front door I saw a phone booth. Not any ordinary phone booth but one covered in red. I examined it and on the top it said "Car_l" and when I looked at the left side of it it read 'Caroll". Then I started hearing the word "carlll" like a snake hissing the word as I was examining it. I lost my thirst after that and walked back up to bed. I woke up and the teacher was getting ready to go to work. I asked her how that phone booth got there and (I remember this in verbatim) she said, "It's for you, given to you". So I ended up getting out of bed. I walked down stairs as the girl and the other guy were leaving to get to school. The red phone booth was still there. The girl poked her head into the house one more time and said to me (again in verbatim), "It's not me". Then I approached the phone booth and touched it. I then woke up. Since the dream was so vivid I remembered it almost in verbatim. I kept wondering what the meaning was behind that solid red phone booth. Now, the girl in that dream, her name was Coral. Very similar to Caroll and Car_l. I also thought there was meaning behind me spending the night at the teacher's place. So, I thought that something was going to happen between me and Coral where we will get back together. that never happened. I then thought that something was going to happen between me and the teacher, that also never happened. A few months passed by. I put that dream behind me but never forgot about that dream. My car, which was a Saturn at the time, started to have transmission problems. I wasn't going to waste more money on it and my mom decided to help me out on getting a new car. Well, she ended up buying a car for herself and gave me her old car. Her old car is my current car. The car was given to me. It was only like a month later when I realized the connection between that dream and the fact that I was given a red car absolutely free. That's not the only time I had messages within my dreams. Before I heard a voice say the number Dece 23 back in 1997 and faintly saw my great grandmother moaning. A couple of days later I found out my great grand mother died and she died on November 23rd. HOWEVER, my grandmother died that same year on December 23rd... I ain't fucking lying. This is why I read Deepak Chopra books and why I recommended it to Assembler. But only started reading them since 2005. I've read almost all his books about synchronicity/synchrodestiny and levels on consciousness. That is why I feel I'm more in touch with that 'other' side and can sense things to come to the point where they are almost close in resemblance to each other.
Wait, are you calling me a giant rat? :110: Anyway, you know I hear a lot of people say the same thing, that they recieve messages or otherwise have some sort of prophetic dreams. Whatever explaination one may have for it, the fact is that it does happen, and seems to be pretty widespread. I tend to lean more towards the group consciousness angle myself rather than information being transmitted through parallel dimensions or anything like that. It seems more plausable to me that while in a dream state, some unknown facet of the brain would be able to pick up on the alpha waves of others, or perhaps recieve information in a way we don't know about, (but whatever method it would be would still conform to rational scientific principles. Just my opinion.) Unfortuneatly I myself don't seem to have prophetic dreams. Or maybe that is fortunate for everyone else, becasue the ones without hideous monsters in them tend usually be just rediculous. People walking around without clothes and plants growing out of their heads, stuff like that. Usually I only remember snippets actually. Maybe you should look into developing this ability. Start keeping a dream journal, like write them down as soon as you wake up, even if they seem mundane. Eventually you're supposed to develop the ability of lucid dreaming from doing this, although I've never been able myself.
The first pic KINDA looks like a mix between an Evangelion, and the Guyver. Watch those two shows much? The second one sort of looks like a cross between the Cylcloid Emperor from Duke Nukem and an Imp from Doom. Play lotsa shootin games?
I've had one of those chaos all around you type of dreams. I was in some sort of big city war zone that reminded me Mogadishu, Somalia. I remember coming back to this bombed out building I was staying at and thinking that it had been a bad day and that I was tired. I remember chatting with someone (I never did see their face) while eating and then having a cigarette when I hear someone enter the building. Somehow I knew the they weren’t looking for me but I instinctively knew that it was either them or me so grabbed my rifle that was laying in the corner and kneeled while taking aim at the doorway. I see a barrel enter the door frame ( it was lowered at an angle) and then finally the person. He freezes and we stare at each other for a few seconds (it seemed like forever) and I can see that he knew I had the drop on him. Finally he starts to raise his rifle and I just lit him up. Everything at this point is in slow motion as I watch him fall back against the wall in the hallway and slump down. I stand up and stare at him for a second then go to the doorway to peek round corner to make sure no one else is there. Just as I’m about to look I wake up. I’ve had very few dreams that were so realistic that they used all five senses and that when I woke up I wasn’t sure where I was. I could hear the gunfire going on throughout the city I was in. I could feel the recoil of the rifle as I fired it and smell the burnt gunpowder afterwards. To this day I can remember the dream in its entirety and tell you what I wore, what weapons I carried, what the room looked like, ect. Whenever I see a trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 it is the first thing I think of (the city reminds me of the one in my dream) even though this was years before. BTW. None of the other dreams I’ve had that were this real were that violent. I sure wish I could remember what I ate or did that day.
I hate to tell you this but pain whilst asleep can actually be attributed (especially stabbing pains) to genuine health issues. Not wishing to be alarmist in any particular way but consider it for a second. Often in dreams our brain is merely responding to external stimuli, such as a partner speaking to us, noises in the background, someone digging you in the ribs and saying "get off my side of the bed". If you are alone, then those stimuli may be triggered by emotional upset (stress or anxiety) playing on your mind or, as I said actual bodily trauma. You can have a cramp, you could injure yourself (hence the bruising) and sometimes people can have actual cardiac arrest (Hey, I didn't say it was you DRussian). In the vast majority of instances these stimuli wake us up, but in such a state of relaxation and fatigue you fall asleep almost immediately and incorporate those experiences into your dream and actually "remember" nothing of the event itself, just your minds interpretation of it. Sorry to be a total bore, but there we go. Oh, and if it persists I'd seek medical advice or speak to a psychologist.
Hmmm the worst dreams I have had, were where I punched, or kicked in real life. And I felt the pain, because I hit the wall. Well in both dreams I was fighting. Other than that, then the most prophetic dream I have had must be the one, where I met my former "friend", where the same I really did meet him, well you can read about here. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=172260&postcount=16 But another dream, was that I dreamt, that my old female teacher came into the class (she was pregnant at the time). And she shouldn´t be there, because she was pregnant. And what happened that morning ? well she came in the classroom while I told the dream. In the exact same way, and damn it made me just a bit shocked. Other than that, then I don´t really have prophetic dreams . The story about my teacher was when I was in 3. grade. CrAzY: are you living a stressful life ? or are you just so damn unlucky having those nightmares all the time ?
external stimulus including needing the lav can manifest themselves in your dream as nightmarish visions created to wake you, before the inevitable. getting nudged or bumped etc you can understand the effects on dreams, the fact no one has ever felt anything completely similar i mean not a cramp or knock in the night etc would be alarming to some, but i have been suffering with anxiety disorder and to a lesser extent agoraphobia for a number of years and anything my brain throws at me to keep me in fear doesnt surprise me these days. cheers for the heads up though :icon_bigg
The worst thing that happens in my bad dreams is when i try to run or get away from something and in real life i can run quite fast but in my dreams i just can't do it like there is something like a force stoping me from running
Lots of times, it is an awesome feeling lifting your body in the dream. And just fly, that is just awesome
Sorry to hear that mate, I personally happen to know what you are going through and it varies from bouts of insomnia to periods of complete fatigue and lethary I assume? Both pretty common swings I'm afraid. No need to approach anyone if you are currently doing so, but if you haven't mentioned it, I would. Going to bed late, suffering from anxiety or hyper-tension might cause all sorts of sleeping disturbances. I am not surprised you are struggling to get a decent nights sleep!
Its something i`ve dealt with, well am always learning to deal with since i was 16 (i`m now 23). The symptoms linked with my anxiety shift over periods of time to keep me in fear, at the moment i can`t sleep until it`s light out, i`ve always had trouble sleeping though. I`ve tried medication and cognitive behavioural therapy both helped but have long since been stopped. I feel bad and sympathise with anyone going through any kind of mental health issue ongoing or past.
If you need to discuss this at any time (and I mean at any time) then just PM or email me. The forum is probably not the right place for a long discussion on it. Not having a go, just realise it can be a private matter.
I feel pain in my dreams all the time, although it's generally the missus belting me for snoring again:icon_bigg. Seriously though i used to go days on end without sleeping, as soon as i went to bed to get some shut-eye my mind would just race causing me to get up again. I'd get up and almost instantaniously i'd feel exhausted again, back to bed - wide awake. I eventually put it down to work related stress and quit a quite well paid job to eliminate all the pressure it was causing, and found a run of the mill stress free skivvie job driving a fork truck. It was worth it though, i might have a bit less free cash but i sleep like a baby now, snoring and all:thumbsup:.
I've never felt actual physical pain in any dream, but I have had dreams that feel so real I can only assure myself it is a dream in my dream just seconds before I wake up, at least that is what happens a lot. If I wake up naturally (without an alarm or any other kind of noise that causes me to get up), then I will always remember what I was dreaming. I should also note that I am a very heavy sleeper. Once I fall asleep it is very hard to wake me up. It took me a while to find a loud enough alarm for me to wake up with. Now, while I've never felt physical pain in any of my dreams I have felt strong emotion in them. I rarely ever have bad dreams (nightmares, whatever you want to call them) but when I do, they are usually pretty extreme. I've never had a feeling of fear while in a conscious state that could even begin to compare with feelings of fear I've had in my bad dreams. Usually, though, my dreams are absurd, weird, and generally leave me in a state of confusion when I wake up. I hate it when that happens.
Hmmm I have, and have had trouble sleeping, and having a bad day rythm. But the reason why is easy, I don´t take any kind of medication, like I used to do when I was younger, and had my share of ups and downs. But now that I am clean from any kind of fucky medication that isn´t vital, if I get sick. Then I have my day rythm problems. And every now and then I turn the day into night, and night into day. Because of different stuff, but one of the things, that has made me this way. Is because of the same post, I made back then. I think you all have read by now. And I hope no one here will experience what I have been through.
I have never flown in my dreams no. I guess it would be pretty cool to fly in a dream maybe a bit weird though but definatly cool
