a 120v PSU is not working, and using a working 240v PSU gives me 0001 secondary. I've checked my outlets and my cables, they work. EDIT: Maybe my 240v PSU isn't working after all
America. I know that 240V psus are not meant to pair with 120v consoles, but people have said that 240v psus will work with 120v consoles (IIRC, the console itself was 240v, not too sure)
No, youre just mistaken how the power supply works. There are no 120v consoles in this case. The console doesn't care about it so long as its getting the right voltage in the end, which is the purpose of the power supply. Youre in the USA, the only power supply that is going to work without a converter is 120v. If you brought the same exact console overseas to where 240v is the standard, 240v is all that would work without a converter. But you are putting 120v into a 240v power supply, which wont get the console the power it needs, so of course it doesnt work. What matters for development systems is the wattage. If your unit has a sidecar, you need the development power supply that is 120v at 213 watt. If you don't have a sidecar, you just need a proper era or earlier power supply at 120v. So a Xenon power supply will work on all original style units, while a Jasper would only work on a Jasper unit, for example.
Thanks for letting me know! Need to buy a converter so my 240v PSU works happily (My 120v PSU is DOA i think)
Yes, PSU led turns red quickly before turning back orange. I'm based in America using a European PSU, so that's why it's not working
