So I just bought a HD TV, and an expensive cable obly to find out that very few xbox games support HD. I tried like buggery to find a list and just cant. So if anyone knows some game that'll let me run in HD please post them here. Tony PS Fifa 06 on the 360 is the single most beautiful game I have ever seen
http://www.hdgames.net/ Pretty good site (when it works, seems to be down) http://www.hdtvarcade.com/xboxlist.htm http://www.hdtvpub.com/ Both of those are pretty good as well
Those lists seem to be somewhat inacurate. For instance, the second one has ' Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy' listed as only going up to 480p when it actualy runs upwords of 1080i.
Thats why i like hdgames.net when is up, i think it has so people can dispute what the "official" listing says.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure no Xbox games go higher then 480p, am I right? When you hook the HD pack in it lets you switch to 1080i in the dashboard but I don't think the games actually go that far. I could be wrong though since my TV doesn't even support 480p.....which sucks, but it still looks good.
Funkstar is correct. Most (like 98% or so) Xbox games will output 480p. A handful of Xbox games will output 720p. A very few Xbox games will output 1080i. None can do better than 1080i. Just ain't happening. -hl718
'Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy' is the only game I have for the XBox that has 1080i listed on the back, but I believe I also have a few that are listed as 720p. And their is no doubt about some xbox games going over 480p, as I have played several in the higher resolutions and their is a noticable difference.
You're forgetting the great games that support 720p, like Disney Extreme Skatboarding, NBA Ballers, and Dukes of Hazzard. Can someone please explain to me why Atari Anthology is 1080i? But there's also: Dragon Lair 3d, Enter the Matrix, and Syberia among others. I think you're right, but even then it didn't display right on my screen and used a strange aspect ratio. I believe that Enter the Matrix only upscans the 480i for 1080i anyway (that game sucks serious ass).
I know you can run it through the xbox 360 emulator online I was just hoping for a cheaper solution, but none the less thank you for your help.
Slightly off topic, but I just realized that the 360 is the first North American console without an RF input option, optional or native, at launch. Yay for progress!
