Can anyone help me. I ordered a japanese 360 and the instructions are all in japanese. Does anyone know if I can download American instructions? or can some one make me a copy of theirs. I would greatly appreciate it.

Not to poke fun at anyone or anything, but is setting up an XBOX 360 that sophisticated? I thought one could do the usual plugging in of cables and such and presto to launch a game. I never read my system manuals by the way. ;-)

I currently don't have Adobe Reader installed on this old PC, so I'm unable to view the PDF document.

No but with my system coming in from japan and it being a family gift for Christmas day I wanted to eliminate the chance of any questions. I coulds see something happening and a great gift turning into a mess. Also, my wife reads every owners manual and feels better afterwards so this way she can feel better.

Btw you can set the machine to display games in English if you make that the machines initial language. Games like ridge racer can run in full english mode and a couple of other as well. Also remember to get some new av cables for it, otherwise you won't be able to get anything on the screen on xmas day! (unless you have a jap HD tv!)

I appreciate the advice. I will get cables this week when I go get call of duty.

BTW When it first comes on does language display in english or is it apparent for language choice?

Ah ok, that makes sense now. I guess the best thing is to buy a unit from Japan if you really want an XBOX 360 for someone's Christmas. :smashed:

It seems since Microsoft is really aiming at japan. Japans Xbox will play most games. Compared to US only playing us region. This kept price with in reason for buying one before Christmas.

Anybody know if HD's are the same or region only?

What are you talking about? The JPN Xbox 360 will play JPN coded games and games without a region code. The US Xbox 360 will play US coded games and games without a region code.

How is that "aiming at Japan?" The US console isn't any more limited in what it can play than the JPN console is.

    hl718,
I think he is refering to the fact that a large majority of USA games dont have region lock on them for the 360. Pretty much all 3rd party other then ms first party.

A decent amount of even xbox games were left region free on USA releases.

    What I mean is this:

From what I have seen all japanese games seem to have region only on them were as most us games are region free. It would seem that if you have a japan console you seem to have more choices.

    macwest,
what will be even better is when they start doing Asian releases early next year. We might be able to get games for $5-10 cheaper as a result. :D

    You could be right.

I really enjoy mech and air games and it seems the korean and japanese have more of them. I was just looking on ling sang and there is a nice WWII zero game for the PSP coming out in a few days. I am hopeful the 360 has more contributors in the asian market than xbox did and it could make owning a japanese sytem even better.

BTW I was just on the play-asia site. I bought the 360 this morning and it has already shipped out should have it soon. In comparison to ebay cost or mark ups on "package deals" cost was not bad and it has the beta version of FF.
