Yep, I've said it a billion time, the Saturn has a really shitty cartridge slot on par with the western NES. Complete shit. It has nothing to do with official or unofficial cartridges either. I use only official stuff in all my Saturns and all of them have issues reading the cartridges at times. 4MBIT ROM dependant games are a right bitch to start. Great system though.

Good to know! So in theory using a floppy drive should be more reliable than having to rely on the cartridge slot.
How on earth did they break it so badly after having years of fantastic cartridge slots!

Great system? We all know of the secret shrine to all things Saturn you keep, where you burn incense before playing and pray to the god of all things Sega.

...ok at least that's what I do before powering on.

I'm guessing they knew not many people would use it, so they were just like, "Eh... who cares."

Speaking of Saturn, I'm thinking of getting Capcom Generations 5, the one with Street Fighter II. Anyone care to weigh in on the quality of that port? I know Yakumo says it's the best console version of SFII available, care to add anything to that?

Well, that was at the time. There may be better versions now such as on the PS2 but that has a shit d-pad like all PlayStations (IMO) or there maybe better versions on download now but I don't really know.

Well, it's SFII, you've probably played it a billion times before and it's what you expect: a more or less arcade perfect version. And the PS D-pad is shit no matter what anyone says.

I think it's still the best home port of the original 3 SF2 games. Better dpad and slightly faster loading screens than the PS1 version. The PS2 versions on one of those Capcom Classics collection is the same as the PS1 version, same load times and everything.

Yeah, but play that PS1 verison on a PS2 console with fast loading option enabled and its the other way around. Furthermore, the same version for CCC Vol1 on the Xbox has essentially no load times.

I disagree. I actually really like the PS D-Pad

You want a shit D-Pad? Try the Xbox , and the Xbox 360. Worst D-Pads of all time.

    OF ALL TIME.

The 360 has two different D-pads. The one that came with my elite is sweet but the other pad I bought is total ass.
