Hi All

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but basically I am looking to import a fair bit from japan or Hong Kong over time.

Is there anyone on here that lives in japan that can get stuff?

At the moment I am mostly after Wonderswans, neo geo pockets, Famicoms and famicom disk systems plus games for all the above.

If anyone can help please advise.

I did try taking a look at yahoo japan but im buggered if I can get anywhere with it (language wise).

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I am UK based BTW

try Japangamestock.com

I've used them before and they carry most of what you're after.

ebay is full of japanese stuff too.. if youre not looking for anything rarer than wonderswans, fc and neogeo stuff you wont have any troubles finding stuff.

if you insist on using yahoo then cut&paste + google translator are your best friends.

this thread is as good as any i spose.
as yahoo stories go heres one for the hall of fame..

story:
a friend of mine bought a rather sizeable VB package of yahoo, thru his own account (he is a fairly good japanese speaker).
because it was too big to send as one package by EMS (over 30Kg) he asked the seller to split the package into two packets.
the seller agreed and shipped it out...

over 30kg limit? I think your mate needs to check on things. I've sent a Saturn with about 30 discs via EMS without any problems. Virtual Boys only weigh about the same as a Saturn console.

I assume that he meant he bought tons of things and sent it via EMS and 30Kg was too much although part of me thinks it was a joke about the cutting the box in half. >.<

Oh and back on topic, if you want to buy Japanese games and consoles then just save your money, come to Japan and enjoy yourself in the various shops, visit Osaka too. :D

problem is that by the time you get back to your room you realise you have more stuff than possibly fit into your luggage.

seriously this happened last time me and missus were in Osaka.
Mind you she bought tons(?) children's clothing and by the 3rd day we had to go out and get another luggage to fit them all. Good thing we travelled lightly as otherwise we'd been paying thru our noses at the airline check-in... ^ ^;

Consoles packed reasonably well w/ games fall in the 4kg range. About 4000 yen for boat, 9000 yen for EMS to the US.

yeah well maybe it was the size limit that was exceeded, the point is the lot was too big to be sent as one package anyways.

the actual VB wasent split in half tho, but upon seeing that it wouldnt have surprised me in the least

well the thing is I am looking for them cheaply and in quantities, I have silly amounts of sega/nintendo/commadore consoles, but I need the stuff that is rarer in the uk.

Enay is fine for one off, but I would rather buy 5 wonderswans at the same time.

I remember buying a number of Wonderswans (B&W) for about 2 quid each new and the colour ones for 5 quid each... what do I play on it? Gunpey... (The screens are terrible...).

I did notice a couple of new wonderswan for about 7 quid each today.

Heh. Jamtex, your character encoding is screwed. It happened in another thread where the £ got replaced with ;pound@ or something.

I am just typing in the UK pound symbol $B!r(B
But it seems to change it to £ for some reason...

Which character encoding are you set to? In Firefox it's under "view". Not sure if it's that anyway, but might be a good place to start.
