Help Sourcing Consoles from Japan

You're lucky. Japanese keyboards don't have a pound mark. We have to type "KIGOU" in hiragana to bring up a selection of odd marks then select the pound one from there.

Why not set it to UK English? You don't actually look at the keys, do you?

 

Erm I use a Japanese keyboard too (nice NEC USB one that has a FM Towns fell to it and cost Y100 from Hard off), I just go to half width alphanumeric and type ALT+0163 easy... Takes what 6 key presses.

 

Sounds like giving up your British citizenship and not having to deal with it altogether is a better idea.

 

Because I'd never used a PC until 10 years ago and by that time I was in Japan. When I went back to the UK 3 years ago I had a right hard time typing.

Wow. I learned how to type when I was 10... about the same time I was learning multiplication. I always had the Japanese keyboard, but w/ the "correct" US layout. My English and Aussie friends would come over and just steam with frustration.
