    Just saw your notes.

    - about "rate" : yeah, it's transfer rate. i translated as "mid speed" in FR.
    - tilde seems to work for FR. ;)
    - cleanup means indeed delete.
    - about "out of memory" :

    - I did the same about 'downgrade', I used 'convert'.

    Hi sp193,

to the texts which remains in english and which i refer, are the ones showed
in the screen inside the grey boxes :

    Install
    Multi-Install
    Uninstall FMCB
    Uninstall MI
    Format MC
    Dump MC
    Restore MC
    Exit

I suspect that this is normal, this texts just don't have strings to translate them right?

I bet it is, as it remains in English for me too.

Yes, you are all right. The buttons cannot be translated because I had other plans for them initially: I wanted to replace them with nice icons like the DOA 2 Hardcore menu icons, but I'm not an artist and can't draw nice icons properly. :/

So I came up with this system that will work with multi-language, regardless of what the main menu buttons are: The description for each button can be translated. So even if the button labels remained as English (or even as an icon without a label), the purpose behind the button will still become known to the user via the description.

    Thank you!

    How about apprezzamento?

I also have a doubt in my translation, the only thing I think might be translated maybe differently is:

    Cross-model
    Cross-region

    Trans-modellen
    Trans-regionale

Any Dutch native speakers with a better translation for above?

Thank you all for helping out! :D

Now we only have the Japanese translation incompleted. The Portuguese one is being worked on, I think. When the Portuguese one gets completed, I'll push it all out, regardless of whether the Japanese one is completed.

(I wish for the Japanese one to be completed too, but so far nobody has stepped forward to say "I'll do it"). D:

    Thanks. :)

There's something I need to know though. pool7 also worked on another Spanish translation... but according to him, it's a Latin American Spanish translation. I do appreciate the hard work you guys have put into the translation, but which one fits the PS2 better? :/

I don't understand Spanish, so I'm obviously the wrong person to comment on this matter. Originally, pool7 volunteered to make the translation for this tool and I did record that on the project page.

AFAIK, it seems like there are several variations/standards of the Spanish language, like there are several standards/variations of the English language. Similarly, there's only one Spanish-language option for the PlayStation 2, like there is only one English-language option for the PlayStation 2. In that case, that probably means that only one standard of Spanish can be used here, but which one should be used?

But since effort was put into making the translations, I'll mention everybody who has contributed the Spanish translation anyway. It can also be viewed as a community effort too, so even if one translation isn't used, it won't be a waste because it was discussed on how the translation can be best made.

If there is still a lang folder in the final release, why not keep both, and simply add a note in a readme, saying that Latin American Spanish speakers can rename pool7's files to strings_SP.txt and labels_SP.txt?

    Just a suggestion ;)

Nevermind apprezzamento, just read back in the thread to find out rate as in transfer rate. So more like accelerare? instead of vote.

Anyway, updated Dutch with correct rate as in speed instead of rating :)

    View attachment labels_DU.txt

    View attachment strings_DU.txt

I had a look in to the pool7 translation, from what i see is a little unfinished, with some words not
very understandable, and doubts about others.

The word rate which refers to transfer rate is not translated, and is "tasa", or "tasa de transferencia".

The word "clean up" is translated literally from the english as "limpieza" which is not correct for
what it means here, correct is "borrar" which i used, or "eliminar" because is refered to delete
    o erase.

He lacks intentionally all the tildes in all the words which use them, but is a serious
lack of ortography like for example if you quit all them also in the french language.
The system is perfectly compatible with them, do not have any problem using the tildes.

The same applies to the opening interrogation simbol "¿" which also lacks in all the translation,
is obligatory use it in spanish like the tilde.

Other words are different but just variations from one spanish to another.

I think the suggestion to put his translation as alternative to be renamed for latin users, is
    a good one.

    Regards.

No, i've simply translated with "velocità trasferimento" ;)

    For words like:
    Cross-model
    Cross-region
    cleanup

i'v simply not translated them, because can remain in english ;)
literally translation have no sense in italian.

    Unofficial FMCB installer v0.94B1 released!

Basically, what RandQlan said about the installer crashing on some consoles was true. I do hope that I've fixed the bug, although it seems like RandQlan is still having problems with getting it to work on his consoles... and I have totally no idea why now because it now even works on my SCPH-77006. D:

    Changelog for v0.94B1:

    1. Fixed an old bug in the UDNL clone module, which was left behind by Sony.
    2. Added the Spanish, Italian and Dutch localizations.
