Oops. Sorry, but I had a mixup here. I'll get the list fixed soon. I'm currently on medication, so it's a bit hard to think straight. Thanks!

If I'm not wrong, the translation I included is yours... so it's you.

I meant to fix and complete the translation once I got feedback regarding my translation notes, but haven't had time yet; sorry about that.

The spanish in the PS2 (and therefore this app as well) should be Spain's spanish, although if we can keep the latin american as an option, I can finalize it in the next days and post it here.

    Unofficial FMCB installer v0.94C released!

    Changelog for v0.94C:

    1. Fixed the UDNL module yet again. The UDNL module was not calculating the size of the used portion of memory properly.
    2. Updated Dutch localization.
    3. Added Portuguese translation.

It's up to you though. The PS2 only supports 8 languages, so the Spanish localization will have to be swapped out with yours, if the user desires it.

If you do complete it, let me know and I'll host it, as you put in the effort for that.

In preparation of FMCB v1.9's release

In preparation of FMCB v1.9's release, some testing has been done... and it has been noticed that there are two missing strings:
Existing FHDB CNF found!\nDo you want to keep it? (line 10 of the current English template, before inserting any lines)
Uninstalling FHDB. Please do not switch off the power or disconnect the HDD unit. (line 36 of the current English template, before inserting any lines)

I'll appreciate it if you (the translators) would translate those lines and either PM them to me or post them here. Do not bother with adding those lines to the current installer, as the installer will reject files with additional lines.

I think that I'll make one more release of the unofficial FMCB v1.8c installer before the release of FMCB v1.9, so that v1.8c will have a stable release. FMCB v1.9 may be unstable due to the number of new features it has.

The Dutch translation has already been updated by beepboop, as he had volunteered to fix it up.

    Thank you all!

    Hello,

here is the two lines translated to the spanish language:

    - Existing FHDB CNF found!\nDo you want to keep it?

    ¡Configuración de FHDB encontrada!\n¿Deseas mantenerla?

    - Uninstalling FHDB. Please do not switch off the power or disconnect the HDD unit.

Desinstalando FHDB. Por favor no apagues la alimentación o desconectes el disco duro.

    Regards.

    v0.94D and H released!

Now presenting twin releases: FMCBInstaller v0.94D and v0.94H!

v0.94D will be the final version that will install FMCB v1.8C, as long as it's stable. FMCB v1.8C shall be treated as a stable version of FMCB, until the v1.9 series has been tested and proven stable.

    v0.94H (H for HDD) installs FMCB v1.9.

    Changelog for v0.94 D & H:

    1. Corrected Japanese language strings (some strings were in the wrong order).
    2. The startup device will now be checked, and the program will quit if it was started from an unsupported device.
    3. The program will now quit if the resource files (e.g. fonts) cannot be loaded, instead of getting stuck at a black screen.
    4. Updated to compile with the latest PS2SDK revision.
    5. Updated all locales (Locales not updated will have English strings for the missing lines). The Dutch, French, Portuguese and Spanish translations are the only ones which are fully updated.
    6. Added support for the Chinese consoles (Magicgate region 09, folder letter C. e.g. SCPH-50009).
    7. Cleaned up region-letter parsing (Only 'A', 'C', 'E', 'H' and 'I' will be recognised). I don't think that other letters are used.
    8. Fixed the recording of the paths of the cross-linked files in the multi-install uninstallation log file.
It's recommended to backup your card, format it, reinstall FMCB, before finally copying your data back onto the card, if your FMCB multi-installation was made with any version of installer v0.94 prior to v0.94D/H.

    Changelog for v0.94H:

    1. Activated HDD support.
    2. Included FMCB v1.9 for the memory card (retail PS2 + PSX supported) and HDD OSD (Browser update v2.00).

    Thank you! :D

    ***

On a side note, FMCB v1.90 was updated to v1.91. ESR (direct booting) support was fixed, and some optimization was done.

I won't be updating the first post of this thread for this memo because it's not directly related to the FMCB installer (The PSX-scene thread wasn't updated either).

    FMCB v1.93 released!

    Changelog:

    1. Fixed support for the PSX (DVR unit). It will now boot properly, and sets the EE and CD/DVD drive into "PS2 mode".
    2. Changed the way arguments are passed to the OSD program. FMCB will no longer parse and repeat the arguments, but passes the arguments directly to the OSD program "as-is".
    3. Recompiled the FMCB configurator to have the updated FMCB release version number. Also, with this recompilation, the Protokernel patch within it has been updated (Note: This doesn't really matter because the patch from the FMCB binary would have already been applied).
    4. The MBR program's EELOAD module had it's argument storage widened, so that it can take in 16 user arguments (To avoid buffer overflows, since the code within it was always limiting the number of accepted arguments to 16).
    5. Added a clone of the kernel update for the SCPH-10000 (v1.01) and SCPH-15000.
    6. Fixed OSD configuration setup for the SCPH-50009. Its OSD sets its "region" field to 2 instead of 1, despite this console being in the NTSC region.
    7. Modified the "inner browser" setting to allow the user to specify how FMCB/FHDB will handle booting into the OSD (Either always boot into the browser or not, or just let the browser have its default behaviour).
For those who wish to edit this setting by hand, the valid values are as follows: 0 = AUTO, 1 = force ON (always boot into the browser), 2 = force OFF (always stay out of the browser). It was made this way for backward compatibility.
    8. Removed the "return to loader" option, since I had no intent on maintaining it. The user can put uLaunchELF basically anywhere, and uLaunchELF isn't part of FMCB anyway.
    9. FMCB will now no longer display the FMCB logo when software like the DVD player quits, to match the behaviour of the OSD program.

For more information, downloads and links, please refer to the first post of this thread.

And I hope that everything works well in this release, since not much testing was done this time. Please report bugs ASAP because I have only about 20 days left.

    FMCB v1.94 released!

    Changelog for v1.94:

    1. Corrected the stack address of all cores (FMCB main core, MBR and EE ELF loader).
    2. Corrected the buffer overflow bug within the OSD history updating function.
    3. Added an additional IOP reset for the PSX to load the standard PS2 modules into the IOP, since that the the reinitialization of libcdvd seemed to cause the CD/DVD drive to strangely malfunction.
    4. Restructured the initialization code, for better integration of #3.
    5. The CD/DVD drive boot certification code has been replaced with a simpler one that was copied from the Sony OSD.
    6. Updated to be compilable with the latest PS2SDK revision.
    7. Compiled with the latest PS2SDK revision for enhanced stability.
    8. The IOP will now be reset for programs that are loaded from the HDD. Sony does this, presumably to clear the IOP of modules like DEV9 (or in our case, hack'ish stuff like IOMANX), which would cause problems if loaded twice.
    9. Standardized the crt0 module's argument buffer size for the EE ELF loader, FMCB core and main body.
    10. Corrected region handling for when an unsupported regions.
    11. Fixed the default language selection, for export consoles that have the language set to Japanese (usually caused by having a dead battery) or some bogus setting.

Note: As 2014/06/29, FMCB v1.8c will no longer be officially circulated as FMCB v1.9 seems to have achieved proven stability.

Since I'm romanian,I thought of helping by making the Romanian translation.
I haven't used any characters that the PS2 can't display (those being â,Ă,î,Â,ÃŽ,Ş,Ţ)so it's okay to use.
Here it is.I didn't use Mediafire because I don't have an account there.(nor I want to have one)
View attachment FMCBInstaller - Romanian translation.rar

NOTE:In order to test it on the installer, replace it with whatever language you have set. (e.g I have French set,so to test it I should replace the FR files)
I just noticed that by now.
Maybe it also works by replacing the Japanese files but that would work only on Asia consoles.

    FMCB v1.95 released!

    Changelog for installer v0.97:
    1. Updated to be compilable with the latest PS2SDK revision.
    2. Compiled with the latest PS2SDK revision for stability.
    3. Updated to support FMCB v1.95.
    4. Enlarged output buffers for S-commands within SECRMAN to 16-bytes, as CDVDMAN can assume that these output buffers are 16-bytes long.
    5. Added support for DEX units.
    6. Revamped the GUI.
    7. HDD unit will only be shut off if HDD support is disabled.
    8. Changed fonts to the Google Noto fonts.
    9. Added warning messages for users of unsupported consoles (ROM v2.30) and for users with HDDs that need maintenance/replacement (for FHDB).

    Changelog for FMCB/FHDB v1.95:
    1. Fixed alpha blending for the hacked OSD.
    2. The FMCB version number can now be accessed through the %VER% variable in FREEMCB.CNF, for the top and bottom delimiters.
    3. Updated for use with the latest PS2SDK.
    4. Updated to build with the new PS2SDK, for stability. This includes the use of the new USB modules.
    5. Changed all KELF/KIRX files to type 01 (Update files), for compatibility with Debugstation consoles.
    6. Changed PSX updater module to be loaded from a memory card instead.
    7. DVD video disc sector reading is now enabled by loading a dummy DVD player-flagged KIRX from a memory card.
    8. Cleaned up sources and corrected (non-critical, disassembly-related) mistakes in the v1.00 and v1.01 kernel patches.
    9. Added FSCK tool for FHDB.
    10. Removed HDD support for the PSX, allowing FMCB to boot on a PSX that has lost its HDD unit.

EDIT 2016/01/06: Fixed language support and ESR support, added new warning against the use of multi-installations.

EDIT 2016/01/07: Added the ability to install FMCB for the PSX with a PS2, and added a free space check for the HDD unit.

Re-release 2015/01/09: Select button is now CROSS for non-Japanese regions, increased PAL screen X-offset by 4 and added quit confirmation.

Re-release 2016/01/10: Re-compiled to fix broken strings table, large files can now be copied properly to the HDD unit (copied in blocks) and fixed size computation of the unused areas of the HDD unit by making it compliant with the homebrew APA driver.

For the special installation of FMCB for the PSX with a PS2, the memory card will not be cleaned up first. So it is possible to install FMCB for the PSX without losing your existing FMCB installation.

As of now, only the English language is available because the strings and labels were changed.
The automatic mechanism for splitting long lines on the screen was removed, so the strings have to be formatted to break manually. Otherwise, they will be cut off.
If you are able to and willing to, please contribute new translations for FMCBInstaller and FSCK.
For more information, refer to: http://ichiba.geocities.jp/ysai187/PS2/LanguageSupport.htm

The translations will be added together, once all of them are completed.

EDIT: FMCB/FHDB v1.951 was released, but I think that I will create a new thread instead. This thread was originally meant for the predecessor to this project and I find it hard to change the 1st post's content without changing the purpose of this thread.

    New thread: http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/fmcb-fhdb-release-thread.61599/

Please feel free to lock this thread.
