Here's the whole unit here, finally all plugged up and ready to go. I'll make a video of it maybe tomorrow, but damn it's so damn loud!
Thanks bro! I really enjoy the unit quite a bit. Looks great turned on, I'll snap a photo of it tomorrow
Will have to wait till tomorrow man, the unit just shakes the ground. Pretty sure people would complain
Thanks again man! It runs off a standard CRT TV, but it's connected through a small box (similar to the medusa kit for the 360) which controls the video, sound (Split by S-Video) and the reset switch. I'll explain all this in the video tomorrow
Nice. Wish I had room for a whole kiosk. I'll just have to settle on the fact I even have anything from a demo kiosk... Sega Demo System DS-16 for those who don't remember. You say it's loud and shakes ground? Well of course it will. The cooling fan is rather noisy. LOL
Holy shit mate. I don't check your topic for a couple of weeks and your collection has utterly exploded! Good job! Glad to see you finally got one of those kiosks. Quick question - is the kiosk base hollow or is it solid (but possible to open cover) and weighed? I can't remember what we had at our store other than it hurt like hell when one of the other staff dropped our display on my feet (I had ballet flats on) when we had to shuffle the shop around.
Well where my collection sits, this just wouldn't fit lol so like most houses, we need a game room. This has started it It's not the cooling fans that are loud, actually they are pretty quiet, it's the built in 5.1 sound system. The sub is very, very bassy I love it. Going to load up Wreckless tomorrow! Hahaha, Thanks for kind words miss The base is where 75% of the weight is, it's made of solid steel it's not exactly hollow it has bars, or 'lines' at the bottom with some rods I believe. I only saw the unit from the end once when it was being unloaded. Surely lots of questions have struck so far so I'll be sure to address them in the video tomorrow. Holy hell, you got it dropped on your foot!? How are you still walking??!! The unit took myself and my dad to move it, and it arrived 3 weeks ago. I guess it worked out too, since I've recently been hitting the gym, so "LEVEL UP!" lol I use some 'gliders' to push the unit around but it still takes two people and doesn't exactly make it easy, but it helps.
The kiosk wasn't fully together when the guys dropped it on me but I believe that we had a different base on our one so it could be moved a bit easier. Though given the different base, the kiosk we had was probably a later temp kiosk one as I don't recall signage holders on it and it wasn't all too bad when they dropped it (not very long given the factor that I was yelling). *Shrugs* Anyway. It was a few years ago so I can't remember it completely other than the kiosk had to go as we didn't have enough floor space and we couldn't put up any other kiosks. Our 360 display unit ended up in our backroom sitting on it's kiosk sideways which was being used as a storage cupboard due to that.
Shit! Glad it didn't cause any damage though. All I know of is this kiosk was around Australia, but the US had two designs, and euro had a unique one. Don't quote me on that complete, as I might be wrong, it's theoretical from what I could gather from the internet. Have any photos of the kiosk that nearly took your foot? Wish you didn't have to part with it, I would've taken it I was surprised on the size of it, because really in photos it doesn't appear all that big, when it's in a house it just shadows everything. Loading it off the ute wasn't easy either, or lifting it up on the porch or getting it through the door. They are such a pain to move around, so I understand where you're coming from when it comes to storing these monsters. Yes.
Afraid not. It's long gone and I haven't been working there for quite a while now. I don't know if there was anything special about the display 360 or not. Was a white unit, didn't take down the serial on it and never tested it myself as we were just using it for the store cds since we couldn't even fit a television onto the wall of the store because of the lack of space - that's how small the store was! Had I known you at the time I would've fielded the info or seen about getting the display unit for you to go over it. To be quite honest it never really pegged my mind at the moment... probably because I've never really been one to use the Xbox (the controller feels awkward to me compared to the PS or Nintendo ones aside from the N64 feeling in that lot but it's probably because I've got smaller hands *shrugs* I dunno).
That's sad to hear I know many were destroyed too and some employees from large chain stores bidded on them and got to take them home. Not sure how much they paid though. Many don't like the XBOX controller, I didn't back in the day, but right now I love it a lot probably because I use it so often now. Video is coming soon, I'm currently editing
Here's the video now guys, if there's any questions about it let me know I tried to remember all of them from last night
