Considering most videos I watch of gameplay of the series, it somewhat bothers me that it's never done on Hard or the use of combos and possible glitches. So I decided to log my gameplay and maybe others might enjoy watching, I don't have any intentions of this catching on, or to gain subscribers or anything like that. I decided to play survivals (which can last over an hour long, sometimes more). These are done on the Dreamcast release of Second Offense which wasn't programmed by the original programmers. So it's full of odd glitches which make the game super easy if you know how. I'll do a complete (short part) quest mode for Second Offense after the V8 quests. I've now started a series for Vigilante 8 Quest mode these are in short parts, not 1 character per video. I doubt people will sit through 30minutes of gameplay without commentary. Won't flood my first post with XYZ video, more to come.
I own a physical copy of this game myself, but this looks really good O_O What's your setup like when you were playing this?
Thanks buddy! As in PC specs? Intel Core i7-4790 2 3.60GHz Nvidia GeForce 1060 6GB 16GB RAM Windows 10 ePSXe enhances PSX games quite nicely as well, which plays a major part, x2 the game resolution @ 1920x1080. Anyhow... Added more quests today, rest of the videos for each quest should be in the description. If not, YouTube might send you to the next one when the video ends as they're all in playlists
Well you know I love me some V8 so I will partake. If only the Dreamcast version could have the original games cars ported from the PSX original, then it would be complete since it has all of the original maps from the first game on disc already, but they are just locked behind that cheat code. Also porting the exclusive N64 level from the first game would be nice too. Ultimate V8 game right there.
Made a channel trailer so you can all find out what the channel is about. Had enough footage to make one after all
It seems I've learnt a bit of HEX editing in memory. Managed to make a few of my own codes, which none seemed to be made before. Result was... well interesting to say the least. Now I know why "Y" The Alien was never an enemy!
With a bit more hex editing I was able to get into the unfinished quests for the 'hidden/secret' characters. Weirdly enough, bits of it seems random, no enemies but able to progress right to the end. Even more bubblegum for your mind!! This is a little more glitchy
Yeeerrrrs - Finally found the address for character selection! Interesting how different all the cars act, since they're not actually selectable.
My hacking skills seem to be ok. Well ok for someone who knew nothing a week ago Managed to get the animation to work for the special. Completely different to the final! Completely unfinished special for the '76 Leprechaun. Lastly the most fun of the lot, with uncapped speed and mass.
Possibly the last of alpha/beta content that's out in demos and samplers. Engine sound is different for the Glenn 4x4. The car is originally unselectable.
The Nintendo 64 exclusive level is actually playable in the Dreamcast version. Originally not selectable, even by a modifier. However I was able to get it to load and function like other levels. (lots of unfinished/unset stuff though). @Anthony817 A step closer!
Here's another hack, this time changing all rivals to spawn as Hotrods (upgraded chassis). Oddly, works just fine. For even more changes I was able to edit the respawn value for the Vertigo. The highest selectable value is 3, I increased this to 10. At the moment not sure what the highest value this can be set to. Also, the long behold... corner.pvr
