I found this picture of a back room at Space World some years ago. Like you can Sega showed nearly all "common" limited edition Sega Dreamcast systems, missing only the pearl pink version. (from left to right) Front: Hello Kitty Blue, Hello Kitty Pink, Biohazard Claire, Sega Partners, Mazora, pearl blue, Hitachi prototype Middle: Retail DC, Biohazard STARS, Seaman Xmas, Seaman clear, Divers DC Back: Regulation #7, pure black, silver, Custom 78, Sakura Wars Look at that limited edition / prototype Hitachi Dreamcast (front row to the right). It's box looks like one Hitachi made for it's Saturn consoles. It has a large triangular logo at the place where there's usually the Dreamcast swirl. There's also a bigger logo below and something more grey-colored at the upper end which doesn't look like a shadow to me. I would like to get some further informations about that unit and a possibly Hitachi Dreamcast. Sadly it's the only picture i've got and it's quality is not good enough for a close-up of the console. Any serious info would be fine - feel free to discuss.
Nice pic thanks for sharing, like you say it's a shame it's not a little more clearer, still it's better than nothing.
Is this a VMU in my pocket, or am I just VERY happy to see this image? Hell, you could offer me pictures of Trishelle Canatella or Carmella DeCessare, and I'd still find this one a bit more alluring.
We discussed the picture over at DCH and the Hitachi box is probably a Hitachi-Saturn box. It's even smaller than the other Dreamcast boxes. So chances that it's some kind of Hitachi Dreamcast are rather small. But it must be some other special / limited edition Dreamcast that most of us didn't know yet.
Also could that one be one of the many dreamcasts from that magazine in japan.... we had some pictures of the limited editions from GP wasnt it? Also that logo could be a signature ....
@Paulo: Yes, please change the title. I already tried to do it but it's still listed as "Saturn" and not "Dreamcast" in Portal. It may be one of the many "contest-Dreamcasts". What do you mean with GP - and where are those LE consoles pictures?
GaijinPunch had posted pictures of the contest dreamcasts on the boards.... have to search though. Not sure if it was him or not though....
I've seen this picture before when searching on the web - it wasn't as high resolution but there were more pictures along with it...... Will see if it's still lying around on disk....
That's not an Hitachi Saturn box for sure. Saturns are much bigger than Dreamcasts. I read a very long time ago about Hitachi making a Dreamcast but never saw anything of it. You'll also notice in that picture that there are images of the XBOX, PS2 and Game Cube Dreamcast mods They are under the Sega Partners Dreamcast. Yakumo
Im sure iver seen that box before.... and yeah i noticed that they had the cool mods there... Maybe that DC could also be a mod.
I'm not talking about the box of the Navi Hi-Saturn - these are sure much bigger. Bould could anyone confirm that the "regular" Hitachi Saturn box is bigger than a Dreamcast box ?
I don't think its a hitachi saturn box..the saturn boxes have Hi Saturn in gold along black trim along all the sides I believe. here's one on ebay at the mo..it shows the gold writing on the front side trim, and I'm sure its like that all round (will check tonight) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62054&item=8195782653&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Also the location of the hitachi name (and what is underneath) is in the centre..whereas on a saturn box is is to the side.
This is not from Space World. That xbox/cube mods and the 32x games shows that. Must be from someone's collection.
I was the one that posted the pic, but it only contains a bunch of different Mazorra DCs. http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~japangaming/bonus_info.php?type=promo&b=majora There's a pretty high res image viewable as well.
