Hello everyone, I am new to site and I trying to find out some information. I recently bought a IS Nitro Capture Device for playing DS games on a TV. I unpacked it and tried to hook it up to my TV but nothing was appearing on the TV. I didn't get the manual or any of the other cables.

So my question is how do I hook up the IS Nitro Capture Device to a TV?

I tried to use a gamecube power cord and my old N64/Gamecube A/V cables. Will these cables allow me to hook up this device to a TV or not? If I need different cables, does anyone know where I can get them?

Also if anyone knows, I tried to put in a DS game into the device and I was able to turn it on, however when I looked at the DS (on the IS Nitro Capture device), it wasn't showing the game in the device. Since the game wasn't showing in the DS (on the IS Nitro Capture device), does that mean this device is broken or does it only work when the device outputs to TVs?

Finally one last question, does anyone know where I can look at or get a manual for the IS Nitro Capture device?

I would appreciate any information. Please either PM me or reply in this thread.

    Thank you for listening.

It should detect the DS game card even when not connected to a TV or computer. Try cycling the power after you inserted a DS game card. Just like a normal DS, it won't read the game until rebooted.

TV output should work with the GameCube cables.

Hello Denryu, thank you for responding. I did try to cycle and reboot the IS Nitro Capture with the DS system and a game but it still didn't show it on the DS screen. For the cycle and reboot I was simply turning off the power on the back of the IS Nitro Capture, is that correct?

I also tried to hook up to a TV again and still nothing.

I have another question I was curious about, on the back of the IS Nitro Capture device, below the AC power and there is a panel with 8 switches. Do you know what those switches do? Right now on the IS Nitro Capture device all of those switches are OFF, should some of them be ON?

Thank you for the input and please let me know anything of you can think of anything else.

    Bye.

If it's one of the broken ones the recycler has been selling on ebay , it's probably broken.

The switches select one screen, two screens, both screens of the ds on one screen.

Try dips 567 on. If there's no video, it is broken.

Hello ASSEMbler, thank you for responding. I didn't buy this from a user called the recycler, it was a different user.

I tried what you said, there is no video going to the TV, the audio is outputting to the TV but no picture. When you say no video are you talking about on the TV or on the DS? I also can't get the DS to see/detect a game.

Does that mean it is broken? If so, is there anything I can do? Should I even bother trying to fix, such as asking intelligent systems? Please let me know my options and thank you for helping.

It's possible that TV out has been misconfigured.

    Try these DIP switches:
    1: OFF
    2: OFF
    3: ON
    4: OFF
    5: OFF
    6: OFF
    7: ON
    8: OFF

If that doesn't bring back TV out, even with a different AV cable, then try restoring the firmware by doing this:

    1. Turn the device off.
    2. Set DIP switch 4 to ON.
    3. Turn the device on.
    4. Wait until SYSTEM1 LED turns off, then turn off the device.
    5. Set DIP switch 4 to OFF.

If it still doesn't work properly, the device is definitely broken and I don't think there's anything you can do.

That one won't work with TV Out without the Video option.
But DS card slot should work nonetheless... So it must be repaired.

What exactly is the problem preventing the cart from being read and the video from being displayed?

    Hello,

To answer your question Nimtene, it is because I actually purchased a IS Nitro Emulator not a IS Nitro Capture. I didn't know that both of those existed.

The IS Nitro Emulator is designed to not be able to output to a TV, but it should be able to play games. As said above by Denryu, the game slot is probably broken. Thank you for all the info from everyone who responded.

Anyways, not sure if you still interested, but I figured I'd respond.

    Thanks for listening.

IS-Nitro-Emulators do not play retail game carts. Says so in the manual.
