Just like the title says. My issue. I have a marketplace topic called "citrus3000psi mod service" Now lets say I want to sell an item like a Wasp 4 Megadrive. I can't post another topic because it will get deleted. Can I change the topic title so that members know that I'm selling a wasp 4 mega drive?
...and now I bought said item, and presumably citrus3000psi will want it changed again. This is only one element of a larger problem. Many of the users of the marketplace want to a) keep their posts tidy, b) follow the rules, and c) not bother the mods with extra work. In most situations, we have to compromise one or more of those. At this point, what is the policy as to naming marketplace threads now that the rules limit members to a single thread? Do you want nondescript thread titles that don't reflect the thread contents or do you want the users to contact mods for name changes every time the items change?
The way I read the rules, the one thread limit is for active threads. Now that the item is sold, the thread can be ignored/closed and the next time he has something to sell he starts another. If he want to sell multiple items at the same time, he opens a "bunch of stuff" thread. If he has stuff for sale on a permanent basis, then a single thread is required and he updates the first post with new stuff. I sure won't look for my last FS thread in 200x, if I ever have something to sell, in order to only get one thread.
My case is slightly different. Since I have a mod/Service thread which I want to stay open all the time. I'd really just prefer if I could keep my mod service thread. And then when I want to sell something like a 1 time item I would post a new thread. Obviously if I had a bunch of stuff to sell I'd merge the "mod service" with the "bunch of stuff" to sell. But I really never that much goods to sell.
