Hmmm one word is okay. Eugenics , DK did atrocious stuff in the name of Eugenics. But it looks like other countries did it too, after WWII.

madhatter256: well what should I explode about ? Cause what I am saying is the truth.

Avalanche .. does that not involve snow ?

Hmmm I am going to listen to The Beatles, and well my father loved The Beatles back in the day, and he still likes them. And the reason he likes Yakumo-samas RTC series, is because Yakumo-sama reminds him of Ringo Star and how he speaks.

Do you know the reasoning behind Lennon's famous response to the question "is Ringo the best drummer in the world?"

He responded "He isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles" because during the recording of the white album there was a bit of a tiff (something to do with Lennon and MaCartney getting something in the region of 30 X more royalty money than Harrison and Starr) and Ringo walked out just before they recorded Back in the USSR. Paul decided fuck him and layed down the drum track, it was so good they never re-recorded it. He also did a couple of others; Dear Prudance, The ballad of John & Yoko.

If you listen to those tracks they have some of the best drumming of any Beatles tracks. Thus, John decided that Macca was the best drummer in the Beatles.

That I knew but I only found that out the other day. Here are a few other tid bits I just learned-

-All things must pass was to be a Beatles track but it got rejected? Resulting in one of the best Post Beatles Solo albums a short time later. I should have know this already as an amazing demo for it is on Anthology 3

-Hey Jude was written for Julian Lennon.

-John Lennon almost killed himself while they were recording Getting Better due to taking LSD when he needed an Upper.

It's surprising how little most people know about the eugenics movement. What I was inquiring about was how you got onto that subject. I feel a bit lost, although you hit a topic that I enjoy discussing.

Lennon considered calling "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" "Yoko in the Sky with Diamonds" as she was "the girl with the Kaleidescope eyes"

But the song was written and named after a Drawing Julian had shown him.

The Beatles DID reunite before recording Free as a Bird and Real Love, When they in truibte to John recorded when we was Fab with Harrison. Bootlegs of a recording session with John and Paul exist Stevie wonder is on this recording as well but it was only released as a bootleg.

You can't be their biggest fan if you don't know that kind of stuff.

The session you are talking about was called "A Toot and a Snoot in '74", which was what Lennon says on the recording. They were passing around lines at the time.

The session is rather poor, but the story surrounding it is quite interesting.

Harrison, McCartney and Starr played together on "All Those Years Ago", which was on the "Somewhere in England" album Harrison released in the early 80's.

I said I was the biggest fan I know not their biggest fan. I don't have a shrine to them in my room nor have I ever been to Liverpool.

I have however been on the Front steps on Abby Road and I was almost killed on that Cross walk.

Actually, the correct name of this historic bootleg was A Toot and a SNORE in '74:

It's not true though. If you listen to the recording they say Snort (typo'ed the snoot, oops), but the dutch guy that boot legged it misheard it or whatever. It's actually pretty well known that this is the case. Toot and Snort referencing their music and drug session.

I encourage you to locate the recording to find out for yourself.

Its hard to find a torrent or direct download for it.

Speaking of post Beatles gatherings, Ringo is the only one to have still played with the other 3 post Beatles, but everyone who calls themselves a fan should know that.

So I found it and I'm almost done listening to it. It's a good listen not amazing but I like Jam sessions and this is a Jam session.

I always thought Lennon was a bit of a dick considering how he treated his first kid.

So much for being a hardcore Beatles fan - I never even noticed the mistake in this bootleg's title compared to what they were actually saying! However, that wasn't my reason for tracking down this historic session in the first place anyway. In fact, it was because I was curious about Harry Nilsson's involvement with John Lennon during his lost weekend that originally led to me getting a copy of this one back in the day.

While slightly off-topic, I've read that Nilsson deliberately kept news of a ruptured vocal cord from Lennon so work on his Pussy Cats album would not be stopped, as John had been producing this when Paul McCartney walked in (the rest being history, as they say). Fortunately his voice later recovered, though his career would never quite reach those brilliant first years.

P.S. GoH, if you're looking for another good vintage jam session recorded under similar circumstances then I'd recommend checking out Brian and Dennis Wilson's similarly loose demo tape from late '81, which is now referred to as The Cocaine Sessions in trading circles for some reason...
