If I recall correctly I joined when the Sonic Xtreme stuff was happening (could be wrong, but something was going on here so I joined), and then I started posting about a year ago.

I remember I was reading stuff at 64dd.net (I think) when I stumbled upon a forum topic about the M3 blue disks which linked here. I didn't register till much later (like feder did)

    Edited accordingly!

I was on ebay looking for a Sega Saturn and I stumbled across a PSY-Q dev kit which apparently came with a copy of Resident Evil 1.5, looking for a site that could help me I googled said game and it came up with ASSEmbler. I remember the main page of the site having a really nice picture of NYC on it and that's about it, I stumbled across the forums about 10 seconds later.

Found it in the old roarvgmcom days, the old site opened a whole new world for me!

Inittialy joined the forum around 2003 or 2004, then my old account got deleted due to inactivity (kept on visiting but never logged on lol)

I can't remember how I found this place. Possibly linked to from NTSC-UK.

The daily post numbers are quite low here, which is nice. There's a lot of information and not so much bullshit.

As Codeman, mentioned. Then I also found ASSEMbler back when it was roarvgmcom, but also I found ASSEMbler, because I needed a new "hobby" (which was also an old hobby of mine anyway), and well I found benheck back then and other stuff. But by pure chance, then I chose this forum. And I have not regretted it, even though I have had my fair share of fights over the years.
So 6 years.. damn time flies :)

I think I was trying to buy and sell some rare hardware when someone at another forum linked me here, saying this was the better place for that kind of stuff.

I lurked for a bit, then finally registered.

First registration attempt was declined because my username did not meet the forum standards or something like that (moderated registration back then).

But then I tried again and was accepted.

Although I technically joined because of the market place, I did not start trading here until hundreds of posts and a few months later. This place is full with knowledgeable members and interesting discussions. Like subbie pointed out, this place has become somewhat an online home of mine.

Oddly enough, I think GaijinPunch sent me here way back when I was big into the Saturn collecting.

The first time I learned about Assemblergames.com was from the article "Gaming Illuminati" on Retro Gamer. Then two friends of mine recommended me this forum when I decided to register.

This is the second time someone has asked this: "how did you find this place?".

Anyway, I stumbled upon this site looking for that "green" PSX I saw in the "Making of Lunar Silver Star Story" for the PSX. But actually, it was through zophar.net as I was looking into console program, specifically the SNES. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I do know that's how I found it... when I was looking at that stuff at zophar.net.

This was way back in 2001/2002. Became a member to his ezboards back in 2002. I really helped the owner out back in the beginning of 2004.

Don't remember exactly, but I think I was watching for obscure PCE stuff as usual at that time, when I stumbled over the old (hardware-)page from assy.

Back in the old days when the site was roarvgm.com. Which was so long ago now. I then remember coming back to the site which had changed a lot to find some info on a Gamecube dev related hardware which I saw on ebay. ASSEMbler had some coverage on one of his back when the site had a front page. I actually still have part of the image I print screened to show my mate. This should be a blast from the past for old members!

A bit of a thread derail, but have you noticed that all of Eva01's threads generally start with something among the lines of "I'm pretty drunk".

    What's up with that?

Haha - yes this is how I remember the site when first came here, I knew of the museum as well. Think I found a link to the site while looking for 64DD, and got hooked at looking at all the different JAP based sytems I had never heard of along with insane collections that everyone had/has.

ASSEMbler adding a new weird dev related item every few weeks was also cool - was never interested in DEV before hand (or tbh had any idea that concloes had a dev/test version) so seeing a red and green gamecube was really different. Esepecially the red one above with a massive cartridge!

This place certainly turned me into a collector taking me away from just a simple gamer, I spent a lot of cash buying lots of stuff that is now sitting in boxs either back at my parents or in storage, retail, dev, exclusive items. I have lots and lots of random stuff most I have played for a maximum of 5-10 mins. Which is a shame... and now I am away from "home" for 80% of the year I have come back to being a gamer, buying games I want to play not cause of their value and rareity.

Anyway I am going off topic, found the site searching for 64 dd joined about a year later remember searching was revoked for non-members so signed up.

I come back to this site at least 2/3 times a day to cacthup on what people are talking about, hoping that the next time I log in someone has found a new proto/dev item that I have never heard about.

Have had some great times here following some of the threads....
