Just interested to see what brought people here; word of mouth? a google search term? Another website/article? I discovered Assembler during the great Sonic Xtreme war way back when the site was being attacked by another group after an april fools joke. I was amazed to find so much hardware porn and it has been my regular forum ever since. I'm sad to say I no longer possess any gaming hardware or my Sonic/sega collection anymore, but I will always stay on this site in the hope that one day I will be able to contribute something worthwhile.
I found the old museum years ago. Probly around 2000 or so. I didn't know there was a forum until the Mother 3 thing about 2 years ago. then i lurked until a year ago.
I was attracted to all the goodies in the old museum years ago, and never knew there was a forum until another forum I frequently visited linked to this thread.
I remember when these boards didnt exist & it was on EZboards instead, wonder how many of us are still here from the old days?
Henners was showing me insane collections from this forum. A whole new world opened up to me. Henners was also showing me stuff Japan-Games was selling on eBay. And I thought, "Dude, where does this guy get this stuff??" And then I registered here, and was like, "Whoa, it's Japan-Games." lol. My life has been different ever since I registered. There's such a wealth of information on here. There's some really cool people on here. It's the only forum that I post regularly in. And I've been clicking the "New Posts" link everyday since last May.
Lol, I discovered the "new posts"-link just right now after you mentioned it. I don't remember how I came across this site to be honest. I think it must have had something to do with Yakumo's Retro Core episodes that I used to watch before I registered here. He must have mentionened this forum in any way, or I have heard about it in any other forum - no idea I'm afraid. Anyway, this is by far the most informative forum I've ever posted in and I wouldn't like to miss it.
I used Google to try and track down some Playstation Debugger Systems to buy and it lead me here. After checking everything out, I'm here to stay.
When I saw the museum for the first time, there was Bootleg N64carts and gamefighter, I was obsessed. but my bookmarks deleted themselves and searching "assembler" just gives me info on using assembly! xD
Me, and Johnny for a start  By the way, haven't we had this topic about 5 times already over the last few years  Yakumo
Engadget posted a picture of the PSP Dev kit that had Assembler Games plastered across it... and I naturally found my way over here and registered on the forum. Next thing you know, I'm seeing all of this awesome dev and prototype hardware and software and I can't help but stay away because of how cool all of it is. I'm happy to have found this place, and to be able to see and learn about the things everyone posts here.
Yep. Anyways, i hope we can have the museum back someday. Even on a wiki style. That used to be a great incentive for people to participate.
I was part of the comm. back when it was ezboards, but I wasn't nearly as active as I was until up until December 2004 when i helped out, a lot. But yeh, theres still a good amount of people here from the ezboards, maybe even new members might have been lurkers back then. The wiki is still up, and fully customizable. Also this question has been brought up at least 2 times . One in ez boards.
Great examples of very informative and complet wiki pages: http://lost.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Main_Page
A friend of mine linked me to a brown T-dev gamecube someone had in there collection (I had already been loitering about for a while but thats when I joined up). Cool community here and everyone is mega helpful.
i stumbled up here when i was addictivly searching the net for every peice of 3do m2 stuff i could find and i saw assemblers m2 page on the old museum, after a few visits to the museum page i lurked around these forums before joining.
