So my Super Famicom got here and it came with an svideo input I hooked it up to the av2 and also av1, but I'm not getting video or sound even tried switching between channel 1 and 2 on the back of the super famicom and also switching to channel 2 on the tv, still nothing. If it helps the tv model is insignia ns-l37q-10A. Thanks in advance.
Maybe the cable is faulty? Have any composite cables? Also if you've got S-video input then S-video will be separate setting and no under AV1 or AV2.
S-video got its own channel on my tv.. (Samsung) HDMI 1 HDMI 2 AV1 Svideo Component Scart 1 Scart 2 Tuner So my point, isn't there an extra button to see your full channel list?
Made a video to show the debacle BTW the AV cable is made by hori. Also I dropped a H bomb and a D bomb, incase your around children.
Could be an issue with your TV not supporting 240p properly. Test the cable using a Gamecube if you happen to have one, curious to see what happens.
This is what happens when I hooked it up to the hdcrt. And I know it should work because I've used a ATGames genesis clone on that display using composite.
Did the game make proper contact? It looks like what happens when the system can't read the game. My copy of Yoshi's Island is a bitch to get going on my SNES, maybe try a different game? Or if you don't have another one try reseating the cartridge a few times? You could also try just the audio portion on a stereo, they definitely won't wait for video signal.
did try it on a stereo with just audio and got no sound at all, I think I have USA version of street fighter 2 laying around. I also have ordered a 3.8mm and a 4.5mm security screwdriver drivers so I can open up the console and cartridges but honestly the system is really clean and so is the game cartridge, and the guy I got off ebay has only 1 bad reviews out of 400 positives, said the unit was tested and working. I messaged him asking what was up.
My SNES does that, except with Super Off-Road, I get some glitchy graphics and some sound. All other games, no image and no sound like yours. Did not find the cause yet, but I suspect the cartridge connector to be faulty.
Jeez I spend 60$ on the thing 60$ shipping and can't even play the dang thing lol still trying to get this snes street fighter 2 carts open since I don't have the right tools...
Well I took apart street fighter and put the game into the famicom and now the super famicom won't even power on at all.... *scratches head*
Sounds like you put the chip side facing you, shorting out a fuse. And the Super Famicom should only be plugged to composite set to channel a/v or video and run off a center negative ~10Vish ~1Aish AC Adapter or you risk destroying it.
Cool I ordered the fuses thanks for pointing me in the right direction unlike the way I had the cartridge ha.
Use a model 1 Genesis Ac adapter and see if it works. That's not even the right Ac adapter and the specs seem low.
