You don't. You can get retail discs of OG Xbox to run using modified comparability files.

Otherwise you need to get the raw build of the game and edit the default.xex using xgame360hack.exe

Lastly, the only other known way is shadow booting which will get you zero results unless you know the right peeps.

I've heard of using X360GameHAck, Xbox 360 Game Disc Layout Editor, X360FExT, God2Iso, Xport360, and Le Fluffie to patch a retail game disc dump to play on an XDK.

Disc layout editor is for dvd emulation. The rest I can say I've never used so I can't speak for them.

For legal reasons, be sure you rip the retail disc yourself (you know try not to pirate and all)

As for running them - compatibility files are what you need for the OG Xbox games. Not all games will work, some will, and some that do have issues (Jet Set Radio Future for example).

To run retail games, again make sure you rip it yourself, then use x360gamehack to patch the entire folder the transfer it to the HDD. I say use the extracted form of the game as it just has easier access than GOD format (Game On Demand if you were wondering).

Obviously no online permitted unless you want a bricked XDK ghost boot but let's be honest that's too much effort.

Next up lets see you run title updates for those converted retails ;D
But yea its a pain in the azz getting retail stuff running fully but it is possible if you have a working retail(or just DL a like totally legal copy since you own it right?)

Install to USB or HDD > Connect USB or HDD to PC > Use Party Buffalo to extract the install files > Use GOD2ISO to convert to ISO > Use whatever X360 ISO extracting program(can't remember name of the one I used) > Patch any dll and xex with the latest title update with xex tool > Use xextool to patch all dll and xex to dev and remove allowed media(or use that gamehack program but you should only use those two patches) > Done!

Well not exactly as patching TUs to the files actually breaks many games so for those you need to rebuild the TU completely(I made a terrible guide in this forum somewhere), And another thing is that games with large amount of files will slow xshell to a crawl so what I like to do is re pack the now dev signed game to GoD BUT! that also breaks some games so if it does they need to stay as loose files.

I hope I have thoroughly confused everyone with my intelligible rambling!

You're correct, it does, but I did have success so that's all that matters ;)

In the end I guess it matters mainly on what format and what data you're handling.

Then you should change the title of your thread to is it possible vs "how" because that denotes it's something you'd want to do.

Only 1 issue, you cannot change the title once it is posted
