    Hi all,

I purchased a PSX 5500 console on the 9th of this month from japan, just wondering how long it should take to arrive in australia.. I was told about 2 months?! but it sounds pretty long, seeing shipment from china sometimes only take a week....

I don't know it just sounds fishy too me, as paypal has a 45day limit when it comes to getting my money back.

BTW is $12 cheap considering the system may have issues?

    thanks in advance :D

You got the system for $12? Also, why type of shipping did you use?

You can find broken systems from 15-35$ pretty easily on YAJ. Almost bought one myself. And yeah, you must have went with the cheap shipping.

the shipping was 45euros.. I had a look on YahooAJ and there were loads but translating from Japanese to English using google just made a huge mess of it so I opted for ebay.

Does it sound like a good buy/price even if the system may be faulty?

Id almost guarantee it is faulty at that price. Like I said, its about average, although at this point it is unclear if things like harddrives will be fixable. I plan on snagging one for my next YAJ order.

We've had some strange tales from Australia! Once we raced a SAL parcel against an EMS parcel...
The SAL parcel was extremely heavy and EMS was not available.
Somehow, and we still don't know how to this day, the SAL parcel arrived two days before the EMS parcel.
That said, SAL is as unpredictable as the weather seven days into the future.

EMS is always the way to go where possible, it really is a speedy service! :topsy_turvy:

OK, Japan to Australia will have the following times (I'm an expert on this)

    EMS - 3 to 5 days
    SAL - 10 to 14 days
    Surface - 5 to 8 weeks.

So I'm guessing you went the cheap option with surface mail.

    Yikes surface is pretty slow!
The good news is, you'll forget that it's coming and one day then...
WHAM! It will just be there sitting on your door step! :biggrin-new:

Sheesh, sitting on your doorstep? In a nation founded by us shipping our criminals over there? :p hehe, j/k! ;)

Surface mail takes 2 months minimum to Europe. 5 to 8 weeks is pretty fast! Don't forget, the mail sits there until there is enough to fill a container (or a bit of space on a plane, in some cases). And also, it depends on the route. Hong Kong to the UK is about 28 days by sea. Hong Kong to Brisbane is probably half that, but a good 2 weeks.

Hahaha, in all honesty I wouldn't trust my parcels sitting on my door step. The useless contractors where I am usually don't even walk up the five stairs to my door and just leave a card in the mailbox...

Are you serious? There's just one GIANT sorting machine? :congratulatory: Maintained by Denmark? Makes sense I suppose! :stupid:

Yep you went with surface. Don't worry it's still within the time frame. It maybe $15-$20 extra for EMS but you're better with something tracked.

I've been in the same position as RJ, I've had SAL packages beat EMS. It's weird. Also the postman I have is a fucking prick never knocks on the door -_- since I order so many things I think he can't be fucked walking down to the door any more...
