Just wondering how many of u here are married....n what your other half thinks of your love for gaming/collecting? More importantly...did u have to change your collecting habits due to a change in commitments (ie. more financial responsibilities, general lack of time etc) Mine's generally cool with it....but I did realize that I have less money to spend on my hobbies...lol...
Im married. She doesn't care really, and shows some interest anyway since I like it all. Financial responsibilities, if anything, are less now, since it is split between the two of us rather than just me hah. Lack of time is an issue, but that is more grad school than wife time.
I'm married and have been for 8 or so years. My wife hated my gaming hobby and bitched about it for many years. These days she has given up so all is happy in the world of fantasy She doesn't like our son playing though
I'm married and my other half doesn't mind - she likes 8-bit games in particular, as well as coop fighters and Tekken, which I think is all kinds of awesome. Most of the gaming gear in the house is in the nerd room/man cave, so she's fine with that too. I've also dragged her along to plenty of games shopping over the years too (especially when we hit Japan last year!), but it's give and take - I'll always reciprocate to go shopping for stuff for her and what-not, and we split the hobby money evenly. Mine goes on games, while hers often goes on shoes!
I'm married. My wife is a gamer whose favorite games include FFVI, A Link to the Past, and NiGHTS. So... she was pretty happy with my game collection (though it isn't what it once was...).
Damn...my wife's exactly the same! She's fine with my hobbies as long as she gets her shoes! I've never quite understood why shoes...but so long as she's happy...lol
I'm married. My wife is not a fan of gaming. In fact, when we moved in together she wanted me to give all the "clutter" away! Now she has a slightly different view as I sell my collection to pay the mortgage!
I'm married. The wife isn't fond of gaming though. When I first met her she was outright hostile (I think a previous BF preferred video games over spending time with her, so she had valid bad experiences), but nowadays she tends to tolerate it, although she doesn't 'get' it. She had a NES back when she was little which she got mild amusement out of but considers that she 'grew out' of it. I'm quite tubby, and she's offered to buy me a NES if I lose weight. Nothing like juvenile bribery for my health

Engaged after 6 years. She puts up with my giant 37" Mitsubishi Megaview in the living room and plays Streets of Rage with me.
Some good advice. Pick the person that understands you, and likes to learn, don't get someone on others preferences. For instance I'm irish american from baltimore slums and did a lot of research on my history and was like "wow people treated us like shit and all we did was work hard and try to make the world better" . I dated a lot of different cultures and they had no grasp on morals but I married a African american female and she understands me and is absolutly wonderful And amazing in the... anyways you'd be suprised how happy you will be when your wife isn't a trophy.
