I dont know how many proto M2's were made, but i think its a safe bet to say a good majority of them are owned by ASSEMbler members.

Seems a bit of an overkill to use a M2 to serve coffee, or did it display a picture of a wonderful fresh roasted and ground coffee with a hint of the freshest milk but in reality gave you a cup of flavourless instant coffee with powdered milk that last saw a cow many years ago? A bit like the real M2 renders and the games that did appear...

Tausend Dank! that solves that problem so i guess it would be pointless to buy one then?

well im after anything cheapish... i saw a ebay listing for a m2 dev production unit of over 2k and cried becuase of the price so anything lower than 1k-$500 canadian im after! i dont care if its the gm kiosks or arcade units or actual consoles! or even cd's dev sdk's or games or documents would be great too

EDIT: probally a kiosk unit would be better

Yes, they ARE! Those are M2 UNITS. They are not M2 CONSOLES. Still, as he didn't specify consoles and just said M2.....

    No, they AREN'T!

They are called point-of-sale/interest media kiosks or, drum roll, a coffee vending machine. The successor to the 3DO video gaming system
    was called an M2.

I don't mean any offense to the OP, but after reading his posts in this thread it is quite obvious he didn't know about the FZ-35S, Konami, and coffee vending machine examples you gave even though he now says that's what he was originally asking for information on in addition to the M2 video gaming console.

If that was indeed the information he was after, it seems strange to me that he hasn't brought up the fact that numbers for this unit haven't been posted.

It was blatantly obvious he was asking about the M2 video gaming console and that was what my statement was directed at.
If not he would have written something along the lines of "but what about those car dealership kiosks that are floating around?" after I made the statement that none were released.

    Instead he wrote:

Absolutely. And I really did not mean to get on your case about this. I apologize if I came across that way.
My issue was with retro acting as if my post was way off-base when in reality it was his post that was inappropriate for the given question.

My post was not inappropriate. BOTH the console and the vending machines / POS systems / arcade machines run M2 hardware. His question clearly asks how many M2 were released. As he doesn't state CONSOLE, M2 means anythinh running on M2 hardware. You are WRONG, not I.

Fucking noobs. Don't argue with long-standing members on boards you are new on. It is obvious you're just trying to be cocky. FAIL.

... and you still don't get it.

I'll argue with whomever I choose.

I first joined this forum back in Feb 2005 (a year after you). The site underwent some changes while I was away and I didn't get a chance to save my old account from being deleted, so I created this one (using the same name) in 2006. That doesn't exactly make me a noob.

Likewise, I've been collecting/researching 3DO/M2 since early 2000, which also disqualifies me as a noob.

In fact, I've probably forgotten more about M2 than you'll ever know.

Those last few sentences there scream of someone around the age of 16 or so. Seriously, who says something like that?
Ironic that you accuse me of being cocky right after stating that you are not to be argued with, not because you are a well-informed M2 enthusiast, but on the grounds that you are a "long-standing member" here.

He has already admitted that was what he was asking and I find it humorous that such a "long-standing member" such as yourself didn't recognise that. I knew exactly what he was asking and so did at least one other heavy M2 collector on these boards.

Yes, and the M2 is the unreleased video game system.

M2 was not only the hardware it was running, but more importantly to this discussion, it was it's NAME.

None of those other machines you memtion were ever called an M2 except by people on Ebay attempting to capitalize on the M2 namesake or in an effort to educate people to the fact that those units have M2 hardware.
-This is the distinction you are failing to realize.-
