Bitrate, you're quite right. You're a fairly long-standing member, as proved by this post:

But wait... did you refer to your development system as an "M2 unit" and "My new 3DO M2"? How is that possible? You've already educated us that there were no M2s released, and therefore no such thing as an M2.

Oh, and I guess the term I was looking for was lurker. 4 years and under 50 posts... that's what I'm getting at. Hardly an active member of the community.

I for one would welcome your contributions and acknowledge your experience in the 3DO / M2 field if:

    1. You'd actually start posting and sharing that knowledge
    2. You weren't such a cocky git when you do so.

Don't forget, there ARE people who know less than you. There's no need to be a twat to them.

Incidentally, I joined THIS forum in 2004, sure... I beta tested it before anyone else knew of its existence, when it was merely accessible by IP address. assemblergames.com pointed at the old phpBB forum, of which I was a member... and before that I was a member of the ezboards/proboards based forum (whatever it was, I forget now - we're talking like 10 years ago!).

Windowskiller has posted many interesting things about the M2 and is not a jerk about it. I'm glad to hear him support my statement. See? I DO know what I'm talking about. Sorry, but you're never going to be the M2 guru around here. If you lose the attitude, people might value and respect your opinions, though.

As I said before, I was a member here before that post. Not that it matters. I understand that I am not a long-standing active member here and I really was not trying to claim otherwise. I was trying to point out that I was not what you referred to as a "noob".
At the same time, I understand that you are a long-standing member. You are also a well respected member as well. Why you felt the need to bring membership status into this conversation is a little strange.

No need to post a resume retro. Unlike you, I never attacked your member status as a tool to support my argument.

Also, unlike you, I have not resorted to calling people names.

I am familiar with those pages.
Sure, Panasonic lumped it in the M2 directory as it ran with M2 technology.
I will still argue that the FZ-35S/Konami arcade system/coffee machine were not called an M2 by itself. The M2 designation by itself was applied to the unreleased video game console.

All of this is a moot point anyway. The OP has already stated he was after release numbers for the M2 video game console which is the exact question I understood him to be asking and the exact question I originally answered.

Honestly, and I admit I may be wrong here, I would wager that retro knew what the OP was asking as well, but he used the opportunity to show his knowledge on the M2 by bringing up those other examples. And retro, you did it in such a way with the whole "try telling that to...", "try telling that to...", "try telling that to..." and the rolling eyes emote that it came across in a very condescending manner and as if my answer was incorrect. This is very odd considering you keep badgering me about being cocky.
Then again, it's also strange to call me cocky and then proceed to bring up your elite membership status as a reason not to have an argument with you, but I digress.

Retro, I'm not quite sure what I did to originally offend you back in my first post in this thread that warranted the whole "try telling that to..." eye roll response.
Maybe my reply to the OP's question was too short. Re-reading it I can see how it could come across as arrogant. I really didn't mean for it to sound that way. If I remember correctly I was in a hurry to step out at the time I posted that reply.
If I had it to do over again I would probably ask for clarification.
