I thought the poll said "how many hours a week"...didn't even notice it was "how many hours a day" until you pointed it out.
Close to none. Sometimes I watch this ad free channel called "Knowledge Network", and like the Mentalist and stuff on tv. I am getting caught up with Supernatural at the moment- enjoying it somewhat -, and I watch Midsomer Murders online. Other than that I usually watch anime which I prefer in the original japanese, to the english dubs.
I used to watch TV all the time, but at this point I find it depressing unless it is in very small doses. A lot of TV seems to be a reflection of the people watching it.. While that has the potential to be something great, it isn't. TV started out emulating the public, then the public started emulating what they saw on TV, and now at this point TV tries to emulate the public in hopes that the public will still emulate what they see on TV so that TV can remain a vital and dominant force for trend-setting, advertising, and (ultimately) control. Network TV is pretty stale and for the most part still follows the same formula they had in the 90s. Cable is pretty much ads, partisan news, a 'Plan B' for shows that got cancelled on more prestigious channels (see Network TV), infomercials, and a depressing onslaught of reality TV shows that seemingly never change and don't really have to because the audience continues to grow. Cable companies play mind games. The premium service it began as is hopelessly lost in a complex hierarchy of other premium services. All you need is Navi-X, PFTV, and maybe YouTube.
I have no cable TV subscription and rarely hook up an antennae to my HDTV that can accept OTA broadcasts. Rarely do I watch live streams of stuff available on TV either so I suppose I watch absolutely no TV whatsoever. Netflix, downloaded content, YouTube, and such? Few hours a week.
