Hey there I wanted to ask if there is a way to copy retail xbox demos like you can do with a jtag xbox??I just got a normal pc and a 360 dev kit and everytime i try to copy a demo,it just tells me the size is 50mb... Maybe there is a way to copy the full dics, patch it and make it playable on dev systems?? Let me know! thanks
I use a Kreon drive to rip anything I want as I have a RGH console and don't need the security data. I have a spare preflashed if you're interested but it's IDE.
A dev kit is not designed to load retail code of any sort. If you want to do that on a dev, you would need to mod the console or resign the code. And really, if you're going to hack into a system, why wouldn't you just hack a (much cheaper) retail unit? FWIW, any retail demo downloaded from Xbox Live can be easily copied so long as you keep the folder structure intact. You just need to use one of the many freeware programs to mount the storage device on a PC. You can then burn those demos to DVD-R and load them in an unmodded, retail console.
so,are there any new tools outthere?? i bought a xbox 360 retailstore demo disc, but i just got a dev kit to play.So any chance to copy the full dvd to the xbox 360 or to make retail discs playable on dev kits with a tool like for xbox 1??
Rip the iso then extract it's contents with Xbox backup creator then with xextool make the default devkit (-md or if that doesn't work: -ra -md) then put it on your HDD and play.
You opened it with winrar I'm guessing. You need to open the iso with Xbox Backup creator with the tool found here:
no,it doesnt work..everytime i try to load the disc or the iso after using IMAGE BROWSER it told me this: Unable to determine Xbox disc type
Insert the retail disc in your XDK Launch XexMenu Select a folder Press Y COPY DVD -------- Part 2 : Put back the game on your PC, patch it with xextool Put it back in your XDK, and voila Enjoy have a nice day
its not working..ive done this before, but nothing happend..it told me "please insert the DVd you want to copy".After this nothing happend,so the programm doesnt copy the disc..is it a problem that the disc is copy protected??
On the right of the disc it says "FOR RETAIL KIOSK ONLY!" I Google'd what that was and found this: The reason why it's not showing up as an Xbox 360 iso because that is the disc that boots the console in that preview mode shown at the stores. Pretty interesting. I'd love to see the contents of that disc.
